This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

Jokes on him. He isn't a Christian.
I can self proclaim myself as King of the Lizards, but that doesn't mean i am...
Oh, dear. Greg’s net worth according to the mighty Google is $129 million. Ummm, Greg? Refresh my memory about what the Christ said about the rich having their reward already.

    Grifters gotta grift.

That’s exactly what I thought given his level of literacy. Or lack thereof, actually.

    Indeed:

what ever happened to separation of church and state and all that jazz

When I was a kid in the 50s her take* was common. Of course, nobody, or very few, followed it but it was espoused openly and often. Now it seems, and is, radical.

    * Her take: sex between one man and one woman in the confines of marriage, open to life, and generally a sense that we in the US followed the Christian moral order.

One is curious as to what “the Christian moral order” means. I have my own idea and I am pretty sure Jacky “whack job” Eubanks would likely have issue with it.

At no point in time has this country nor any other country followed any Christian moral order.

    Certainly not this country.

"At both the federal and state levels, the law of the United States was mainly derived from the common law system of English law, which was in force at the time of the Revolutionary War."

But it has been a perception that was more commonly accepted by many in the public sphere in the past no matter how inaccurate it has always been. ( or that's my memory from when I was a kid ) Now of course it's used for divisive reasons.

I've stopped relying on polls as I think Trump voters and similar right-leaning people are under-sampled. I'm a big fan of pollster analysis websites like Nate Silver's 538 but I ask myself why don't they understand that the normal talking points of the past have all gone out the window in the era of Trump.

I'm not very impressed with the Trump backed candidates who won. Many of them would have won anyway. They ran for "safe seats". Here are some Trump endorsed candidates that lost....Madison Cawthorn (NC)....Janice McGeachin (Idaho)...others.
It is more detailed in this online article....
Here is another example. Trump is endorsing David Purdue to be Georgia's next Governor. Purdue is waaaaay behind in the polls. Not even close! .......oops ....so sorry, this forum's software will not accept the photo from my phone. I took a photo of a poll that was placed on the screen during a tv news program.
