    I’m sure much of us are having 2016 flashbacks this morning with a sick feeling to our stomachs..

    2 of the last 3 elections Democrats have lost to a far right demagogue

    Harris didn’t get close in many states to even Biden’s performance. We could very well lose the Presidency, Senate AND House depending on results the next few days…..

    What went wrong?
    What could’ve been done better?
    What can we change in the future to ensure voters are motivated like they were when Obama was elected?

    Democrats have no choice but to admit there’s a huge problem with some aspect of their platform— and to do a deep introspection of what’s going wrong..

    Regarding goods, your claim that prices tripled is a flat out lie.

    Regarding loving Trump? That is another lie. He was a piece of excrement then just as he is now. He defrauded contractors, used illegal migrant workers on building projects and mobbed himself up to get concrete when other developers could not get it. He bankrupted casinos which are virtually licenses to print money.

    His language as noted in another thread is that of an authoritarian populist that most closely resembles verbiage used by Hitler in stoking up the crowds. That you don’t like his language being called out is irrelevant.

    He was, is and always will be, to borrow your words, laughable. He is also ignorant, arrogant and dangerous. When the impact of tariffs on food and goods prices come crashing down on your head, don’t come looking for sympathy. You won’t find any.

    In terms of people getting away with certain things and getting money in unfair ways in comparison to you / people like you, you’re arguing at a molehill when there’s a mountain behind you.

    It’s easy to get mad at immigrants, but they’re objectively, statistically not the problem to you and your everyday life.

    To the contrary, making life harder for immigrants will just make your own life harder as Trump deporting people en masse will wreck the economy.

    A survey conducted shortly after the 2024 presidential election indicates most Democratic voters would support Vice President Kamala Harris in 2028 as the party’s nominee if she were to run for president again.

    It’s only been two weeks since Democrats lost the presidency to Republicans but some are looking to the future, hopeful that a potential new, or familiar, pool of candidates will reinvigorate voters.

    Though names like California Governor Gavin Newsom, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiroand Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieghave emerged, Harris’s campaign seems to have made a lasting impact.

    Approximately 41 percent of likely Democratic voters said they would vote for Harris to represent the Democratic Party in the 2028 presidential election, a survey from Echelon Insights and Puck News found.

    The results are purely preliminary and given Harris’s recency, her policies and stance on issues are fresh in voters’ minds……..

    I'm sure "messaging" can always be blamed on the Dems, I guess? I posted an article a few months back about the Biden admin investing in a steel plant, which essentially saved the plant by transforming it to be both competitive and less polluted for the next 20 years. It would keep Vance's own hometown from dying. Not many in that plant of some 1500 employees knew about the investment. Those that were informed, didn't care that it was Biden. Some did, but I wouldn't know if that changed their vote toward Biden. No, I don't think this was a messaging problem. Between the msm sanewashing Trump and the constant misinformation along with the lack of critical thinking, I have little faith in this American malaise. It's not about policy. I can't see how an issue that is less than 0.1% of the population affects their lives. It's about hate and fear, some of the strongest of emotions. Let's not pretend it's about policy.
