I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

I don't have a problem with them releasing all of it. Just be on the lookout for heavily edited footage made to try and minimize what happened there.

I do wonder if that footage will include the footage where that lady got shot.
I has been released already. I think. I saw it a couple times yesterday when MAGAs were clamoring again for the police officer to be charged with murder.

Yes I had already seen it before.

She deserved it and many more deserved the same fate that day. I genuinely do not understand why the police showed so much restraint and instead just fought the terrorists hand to hand for hours.

Hundreds of them probably should have been taken out.

They would have been justified. I’m glad they showed restraint, but I hate it that so many officers were hurt and that five died mostly from suicide. I heard a lady tell one of the police officers on Jan 6 - we hate you all now. Now nobody supports you, because we were the only ones who did. (from memory, but something along those lines). The things they said and did to police officers was so personal, so hateful.

Correct, but the Tweet that was posted didn't do that, didn't identify the person, or point to any other post that did.
How does the video that Tracey posted of a bunch of people walking down a hallway past police officers prove how anybody got into the building? He’s a horrible liar, is what he is.

More. This is flooding the zone today. It’s a coordinated effort to deny what happened, what we all saw and what we know happened.

Lmao, not one person here has said they want to keep anything hidden. I'm happy they released the entire video. People being violent and then walking around like normal 10 minutes later isn't proof they weren't violent. Just look at the time stamps and when those idiots acted out.

And this isn't going to change a thing in terms of prosecuting violent actors. The courts already have access to the video footage relevant to their case.
Why are so many people on the left and in the media upset that it's being released? Isn't transparency a good thing?

Nobody is upset it is being released. Now, the way they are releasing it is shirtty - out of order, removing time stamps and blurring faces. But releasing it isn’t a problem. Lying about what it shows, and about what happened that day is what people are upset about. And we have a coordinated gaslighting effort going on by MAGA right now. It’s sickening. People died, and I am not talking about the traitor Babbitt. Although I suppose she is as much as victim of Trump’s lies as the rest, except she chose to do what she did.

For me it has nothing to do with the release in and of itself but the purposeful misrepresentation of what occurred that day that's strategically being done in conjunction with the release.

Who's saying transparency isn't a good thing? How they released it was a sheet show. But getting it all out there is good. No one is denying that.
the right is making up stuff about the left being upset. they have in their warped minds that these videos show someone it actually doesn't. when all these videos show is the exact thing we've all known. they came to stop a legal election, with what ever means they could find.

So, the assumption is that transparency is a good thing. Yet, oddly enough, for over 230 years with no evidence of anything anywhere near widespread fraud we are supposed to take the word of the Velveeta Vulgarian™️ that there was voter fraud. Where do you stand on truth and factual accuracy?

This is disgusting, I never thought the day would come when one of our major parties would completely lose their sanity…..over one man, a man who has not one single characteristic/principle that you would want your kids to emulate (unless you are a feckless con or criminal)…..
