I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

We already have seen the violence from January 6th. Releasing the rest of the footage doesn't change or erase that violence, but it does present a more complete picture of January 6th.

The people who complain about transparency only want the public to be aware of the January 6th narrative. Seeing some of these videos make it obvious why this was hidden. This does not absolve the people who committed violence and/or who clearly broke the law.

How does one identify someone from a still frame of a video when you can't even see his face? What's the guy's name who he supposedly identified? Does circling an unidentifiable person on a picture mean it was debunked?

Showing more of the videos that you clearly want to keep hidden isn't justifying anything. Why are you so against people seeing more of the videos?

but you are still wanting an excuse to why they did it in the first place. you make it seem like they wouldn't have done any of it if they weren't "peacefully escorted" in the beginning..
you present it as they duped into it and didn't have it in mind as soon as they made that trip to the Capitol
every single person that went in knew exactly what they wanted to do as soon as they got there, it was their intent.

This is something you do all the time and you need to stop. Where have I ever said that I want to keep all the video hidden? I’m not against people seeing the video, but I am against people lying about what they are seeing like Tracey does here. You need to quit putting words in my mouth.

Also, seeing some police officers who were actually MAGA and showed support doesn’t disprove anything about the insurrection. It’s disturbing, but I think everyone knows that some police are MAGA. Another fact is that at the end of the day there was a decision made to just get the seditionist traitors out of the building to avoid more damage. I didn’t like it at the time, but I understand why they did it. They didn’t have the capacity to take them into custody at that time.

None of this footage changes anything about that terrible day. I do hope that there will be more of the traitors arrested and sent to prison once people see the footage though. And I hope they don’t reveal anything that would jeopardize security at the Capitol.

Lmao, not one person here has said they want to keep anything hidden. I'm happy they released the entire video. People being violent and then walking around like normal 10 minutes later isn't proof they weren't violent. Just look at the time stamps and when those idiots acted out.

And this isn't going to change a thing in terms of prosecuting violent actors. The courts already have access to the video footage relevant to their case.
