I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

From the video I saw, they were very calmly walking into the capital. They are even following the velvet rope. Seems like they know not to push it inside.

they broke in to the building, ward. They have large flagpoles that could be used to enter supposedly secure areas, they may well have concealed weapons. They are not tourists. They should be arrested and charged with unlawful entry at the very least.

So...have the ballots been counted? And what if they aren't able to complete it?

They just pointed out on the news how anyone could have anything in a backpack and walk in there right now.

Doesn't matter how well behaved 9999 of them are if 1 has a bomb strapped to his back.

When you play with fire someone gets burned. Lets hope that there is no Q conspiracy people there who take it upon themselfe to "punish" anyone...

There's saying on CNN there's an armed standoff at the House doors and that police have guns drawn.

Senators given gas masks because they had to use tear gas in the Rotunda.

Is that the US Capitol? While they're conducting official business? For real?

    I'm just...whatthehell? Where are the guards/stormtroopers/cops/Secret Service?

The assassination risk here is off the charts!

They are about to reap what they have sown.

Every last one. If one person gets injured or killed, Trump, Hawley, Cruz and the rest should be charged with negligent homicide ( or whatever its !@$@#$ called )
