Former President D. Trump has been indicted by a New York Grand Jury. There will be much to talk about on this topic because this is just the first step in a lengthy process.

Will this civil suit open Trump up for more crimes due to discovery? Does Trump believe he has lost 1/2 billion due to the hush money crime? Some may argue it made him money, since everyone knew he was a cad, but many may envy him for getting with porn stars.

It might cause Trump to be charged for witness tampering.

None of the media outfits who've published articles about this case have mentioned that possibility yet. I don't know why. Maybe they haven't had time to think it through.

I think he's referring to the fact that Cohen is a state witness in the criminal prosecution and this $500 million civil suit alleges that Cohen is barred from the confidentiality agreement and attorney-client privilege from speaking about the Daniels payment. I suppose Sam's idea is that the suit is aimed at pressuring Cohen not to testify.

But I think the suit focuses mainly on Cohen's public statements, and as a matter of law and policy, neither a confidentiality agreement or attorney-client privilege apply to prohibit Cohen from testifying in a criminal prosecution. So I don't think it can impact the testimony - only what he may say in public.

In a post to Truth Social, the former president attacked Attorney General Letitia James — denouncing the case she brought against him as “ridiculous.”

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Experts say Former President Donald Trump's racially fueled criticism of the three Black prosecutors leading investigations against him could lead to a heightened sense of fear among BIPOC prosecutors.

Former President Donald Trump continues to criticize Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg after pleading not guilty to 34 felony counts last Tuesday.

Trump's attacks don't stop there, from social media posts threatening death and destruction to his rallies.

He's taken shots at a Georgia prosecutor investigating possible criminal behavior by Trump in the 2020 presidential election surrounding his efforts to overturn the results.

The former president has also condemned New York Attorney General Letitia James for looking into his business dealings, calling each of these three Black prosecutors racist.

"The danger of this rhetoric is that it encourages bad actors to do certain things," said Melba Pearson, a former prosecutor. "These are lives that are at stake."

Pearson says Trump is explicitly targeting Black Americans who are just doing their jobs in an industry where just 5% of elected prosecutors nationwide are Black.

According to the Reflective Democracy Campaign, in New York, there are only three.

Pearson says Trump's comments have created a heightened sense of fear.

"I've seen it amongst those considering running for office because it's not just the calculus of is this something I want to do," Pearson said. "The next level is, what about security?"

The Manhattan district attorney’s office filed court papers Monday asking Judge Juan Manuel Merchan for a protective order that would put strict guardrails around Trump’s access to and use of evidence turned over by prosecutors prior to trial. That kind of evidence sharing, called discovery, is routine in criminal cases, and is intended to help ensure a fair trial.

Prosecutors want to block Trump from posting evidence to social media or providing it to third parties. They also want to restrict how he views certain sensitive material, asking that he do so only in the presence of his lawyers — and that he not be able to copy, photograph or transcribe those records.

MANY non Democrats view the DOJ's aggressive legal approach to Donald Trump as being in stark contrast to their obvious efforts to shield President Biden against the accusation of money laundering....alleged Ukraine related stuff....Hunter Biden wrong doings...etc., etc.
Conservative people who are actually hoping for the political fall of Trump and pinning their hopes on Pence or Haley or DeSantis or Scott , etc. etc....Those GOP leaning anti Trumpers ARE likely to rally around Trump in THIS instance.
CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC ....all of these outlets work hard to present the news in a way that favors the Biden Administration and presents the GOP folks in an unfavorable light.
The double standard in the media coverage will now be seen by half the country as additionally spilling into the Legal System as well.
I'm not here to convince you.
That is NOT possible of course.
I'm here to present the other side to you...because although I'll watch left leaning outlets and educate myself on "the other side's point of view"...most of you will not watch Fox NEWS...not the talking heads...forget them!....but the NEWS program on Fox....just to learn the other side.
You'll just throw out snide remarks and such.
So even though the educated and articulate guests on Fox right now would do a far better job of informing you of the Red States voters' viewpoints...you'll probably only get this weak inadequate attempt from me.

No. The Biden story was out first and then hours later the Biden friendly DOJ had to indict Trump to distract from Biden's legal troubles. I was watching Jeopardy on ABC and it was interrupted by ABC News's Special Report on the Trump Federal Indictment news.

THIS is how it will be viewed by half of America. The FBI used to be perceived as not favoring one party or the other. Now it seems to favor the Democratic Party. This is the perception.
You'll never see the other side because you don't make the same effort to view balanced reporting like I do. I've informed my forum colleagues tonight.

Steve, your thesis has a huge and I mean HUGE fallacy, well a couple.

1. There is no real left media bias with most of the news organizations - at least nothing like what Fox engages in. Certainly not in CBS, ABC, AP, Reuters, CNN. This is a narrative that Fox has pushed - similar to what Trump has pushed - to get you to rely on them and believe their biases. And their bias is a doozy - they push conspiracy theories and no, not just on the primetime lineup. Their morning show is almost as bad.

2. Nobody is covering up for any illegal activity by Biden. They are lying to you.
