There is a lot of push-back from Trump on voting by mail, but most states allow it, and 1/3 allow it without any excuse. His rationale is that it will lead to vast fraud, but of course that isn't his real reason. His real reason is that he thinks it will be worse for conservatives, but studies have shown that states that have instituted much broader voting by mail haven't had any statistical changes in party voting.

Although, normally voting by mail doesn't affect party votes, I bet it might this year if we have another resurgence of Covid, because I think the right is much more apt to discount the virus than the left. I know that is why Trump is against it.

Whether you're left or right wing, expanding mail in votes is the right thing to do to reduce the likelihood of spreading the virus, to expand voter participation, and to make it easier for those that do show up to stay distant. It will also allow any people with susceptibilities to remain safer. I think voting by mail could be made extremely secure by having people vote using traditional postal mail, coupled with requiring a confirmation either by phone, email or text. If done by phone, then voters can provide confirmation that can include confirming their form number. If done by email or text, it can include a picture of their form, and then confirmation that that was their form. Rather than staffers individually calling people, this can be automated by having voters call the number, text the number, or email the address provided to them on their form. A website can even be created with a database of those that have voted, and perhaps a link to allow people to confirm their vote was correctly registered. For people without computers, a site can include a means to access the database over the phone with some confirmation information. These types of systems are used extensively by banks and other sites that need security, so I think they are mature enough to use. We could even use such a site for people to confirm their vote on the day of the election.

So there’s a video from newsmax showing General Flynn (who should be in jail) talking about Trump’s “options”. He said there is still a Constitutional option, which I presume is on Jan. 6th, and he prefers that. But other options include declaring martial law, seizing the voting machines, and redoing the election in the swing states. He said everyone acts like martial law is a big deal, but it’s not. I think the quoted tweet has a link to the video.

For those who tend to be nervous about these things, we already know that the Romney, Murkowski, Collins, Sasse etc. types are going to vote against this so it's dead in the water.
We most certainly do NOT know that they're going to vote against it. We know they will certainly pretend to be wrestling with the decision, following by Romney being the only one with balls to vote against. Maybe.
I thought when I read up on this, it will just, at most, delay things by 2-3 hours.
Damn, you just never learn, do you?

I read the entire document from Dominion's lawyers to Powell. It is an impressive smackdown. If I were Powell, I would be on TV immediately looking for a credible way to explain how I was duped and misled. IMO, Dominion has a case against Powell that could produce sizable damages. She would be wise to look at the balance sheet, realize what she has to lose financially and bail on the entire charade.

She isn't likely to do that though. Anyone as deeply invested in conspiracies and the fantasies of Q as she is will probably just double down. Release the Kraken!!

I hope the lawsuit goes forward and she gets utterly ruined because of it. Publicly. I feel the same about all Trump sycophants.

I want discovery. The last page regarding preservation of documents. That's where the good stuff lies. Who paid her. Who directed her. Peel back the layers. See where it goes.

Indeed. Just the correspondence between Powell (and her staff) and the Trump campaign should be interesting enough, but I suspect that the emails and texts between them would produce some dropped jaws. Communication between Powell and Rudy/Ellis could be priceless and I can imagine would provide sufficient evidence that they acted in bad faith and with malice. Dominion could have an epic payoff monetarily, but the real benefit could be that all of the bad actors in this charade will have to go on record that their systems are reliable, secure and accurate.

Here’s someone else (Navarro) just begging for the same treatment. BTW, Stone Kettle is a good follow, if you like a curmudgeon, Richard, lol.

Curmudgeon is a good word for Jim Wright. I would add cantankerous as well. Definitely a great follow.

It’s way past time all of these people pushing conspiracy theories be sued into the dirt. Because of free speech we can’t stop them from saying anything they want. However, if you say my business is selling children out of the basement, pay me. If you say I’m eating babies, pay me. If you say I committed voter fraud, pay me.

The only way to end this lunacy is to make it fiscally destructive to make crap up out of whole cloth and convince millions of gullible people it’s true.

He is admitting to perjury, which is probably accurate. We laugh, but this may be the best legal move they have made. Allege a bunch of b.s., verify that there is plenty of perjury, and file. When you try to charge for perjury, point to this and say, "I verified that the pleading had plenty of perjury."
