Is there a trade deal with China? Is it really a deal or just a pull-back to status quo ante? Is Trump advancing US interests in this well-executed trade battle plan or was this poorly conceived from the start . . . and harmful?

I think the jury's still out, but I haven't seen that the Chinese are offering much in compromise - and it's not even clear if there's going to be an agreement. But it's clear they are working on something and I'm sure Trump will sell it as the greatest trade deal ever. The proof will be in the details.

The historic and amazing "tariff/market rebound" talk on financial sites and programs is just terrible journalism. The Dow and Nasdaq are still down 10% from the highs. Prices are still rising. Job losses are real. In DC, first quarter job losses exceeded first quarter of 2020.

More Americans are saying the current economy is due to President Donald Trump than his predecessor Joe Biden, according to anew Gallup poll.

Trump has consistently blamed Biden for the turbulent stock market after the president triggered a global trade war with his tariffs.

As the president marked his first 100 days in office this week, nearly half of Americans (46 percent) surveyed in April believe that Trump is more responsible for the unstable economy, up 3 percent from March, according to Gallup. This compares to the 27 percent who blame Biden, which remained the same as March’s survey.

When asked whether both are equally responsible, 21 percent agreed.…..

I liquidated on Friday. The volume for this 9 days run up doesn’t look right.

US President Donald Trump says he plans to hit movies made in foreign countries with 100% tariffs,as he ramps up trade disputes with countries around the world.

Trump said he was authorising the US Trade Representative to start the process to impose the levy because America's movie industry was dying "a very fast death".

He blamed a "concerted effort" by other countries that offer incentives to attract filmmakers and studios, which he described as a "National Security threat".

"It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda!" Trump said on his Truth Social platform. "WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!"……..

I saw a stat that about 70% of all cinema-release films worldwide are made in the US - and films released in the US is quite a bit higher.

But a national security threat?? He's bat shirt

The Trumphumpers and the enablers got what they wanted.
