Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights per draft opinion (Update: Dobbs opinion official) (1 Viewer)

Not long ago Kari Lake proclaimed Arizona's abortion law was a great law and wanted it the law of the state.

Now that she has gotten her way, she is lobbying for it to be repealed.

As I have been saying since 2022, the overwhelming vast majority of women aren't going to vote for the man who proudly boasts that he got rid of Roe V. Wade. Nor are those women going to vote for a forced birther politician.

Turns out, republican belief in "pro life" was all just lies to get votes. Who is surprised? I sure am not.

How many forced birthers will do the same about face?

Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake is actively lobbying state lawmakers to overturn a 160-year-old law she once supported that bans abortion in almost all cases, a source with knowledge of her efforts told CNN.

We have a fundamentally undemocractic Senate where D senators represent 40M more people yet the split is 50-50 resulting in a SC were 67% of the court just voted against Roe vs Wade that is generally supported by 66% of the people.

This is how minority rule destroys nations.

For the good of the nation, if a few of those religious wack jobs on the SC died of natural causes I would shed zero tears….something has to give here….this is dark age stuff….

Well, it's interesting that several companies have already stated today that they will pay for transportation costs to go get an abortion in a neighboring state. So, who you work for will matter if this is important to you.

Also, I don't know how many people will do this, but I suspect we'll see people moving from one state to another over this also.

Southern states will write laws stating aiding in abortions within the state is a crime.

I don’t think you have shown anything about “left” DAs save 1. LOL about across the country.
I don't want to waste too much time since these are so easy to look up on your own

You still haven't defined "drag queen", much less gender/cultural/imaginarywhateverthefork appropriation.
Why do I feel like you are perfectly capable of understanding these terms or at the least looking them up? If I need to define drag queen to you then why bother with this discussion, do a little education and come back to me on this.

Science denial, pushing one religion 24/7/365 into law, protecting and love of oligarchs, worshipping the military in their world tour, chastising those of different race and sexual orientation...

America is truly a backsliding democracy.

Don't blame anyone, but most especially WOMEN, from moving out of the 'stan' states.

    Come on now

That's just for the poor people

The rich and powerful will still get their abortions same as they did before Roe
of course they will, same with pain meds same with clean water, same with organic
foods same with ANY health care they desire.
the rich get what they want flying around the globe, the rest of allyall get treated like
    the unwashed paupers you are.

this will drive more women to have Less Sex with males. you dont have to be "homosexual"
to cease having sex with that which will cause pregnancy.
it is a choice. it will, again, be made.

before Roe/W women were not openly having 'sex' with males. they were raped and forced
to carry and birth. some, yes a few, made the mistake and paid for it having to feed and pay
    for some guys seed endlessly.
    many took their own lives.

having sex with that which causes pregnancies and unwanted births will drive men to
one another. many women become grossed out by the thot of Always being pregnant
and packing another male who will become an merican moron.

ive heard from two moms this morning saying their daughters grand daughters now all
scream....they wont have sex with men.
iow...they have girls at home screaming this...now, this morning, after this news broke.

    unwanted pregnancies make women slaves.
get your tubes tied before they make that illegal.

I am with you for the most part and hope those that do want to move do move back. They moved to get away from their the end result of who the vote into office. Now, fingers crossed, they move back and live in their utopia. We can live in ours.

Then you're in denial. Plain and simple.

racism: Which party repeatedly votes against any measures to alleviate minority hardship? Your party
bigotry: Which party repeatedly votes against any measures FOR LGBTQ+ rights? Your party
child massacre: Which party repeatedly votes against any measures for sensible gun legislation? Your party
insurrection: Which party by and large denied that Biden didn't win the last election and shrugs off the jobless thugs that attacked
    our Capitol? Your party

Hint: Your party is the Republican party

Wanna go into science denial, religious extremists, etc.? We can do that too.

The utopia of the America with the worst healthcare, job opportunities, gun violence, most dependent on govt, etc. ?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

a lot of people do not have that luxury
also some companies are very against such things, like hobby lobby

I don't think you realize how much this forks over a lot of people.
This, today, is also why a bunch of us were freaking out when Barrett got nominated and you were like this is nbd, nothing to worry about, things won't get changed etc. Because we knew.
I don't get how the pendulum will swing back the other way, when you have packed courts, voter suppression and gerrymandering, republicans being obstructionists to supreme court nominations, turning around and being hypocrites and pushing one through after RBG died etc

This fundamentally changes the way I will vote. I have voted split for years, probably voted for Republicans slightly more often or at least as often as Democrats.

Civil liberties, individual rights and sovernty, are extremly important to me, but have not always headlined my decision making when voting because I viewed them as unassailable once they were acknowledged as constitutionally protected.

Knowing that they are not means I must vote accordingly and cannot allow other issues to factor in to my decision at all unless multiple cantidates can be trusted to stand firm on the issue of rights.

Seeing as most major elections come down to a Republican and a Democrat, and the Republican party cannot be trusted to acknowledge individual sovernity unless that individual is like them... I really only have one option.

Maybe the reason the poster is asking you is because you have demontrated on multiple occasions that you have youre own set of definitions for alot of things.

No, I get all of that, I'm just adding to what considerations people will have when looking for work. Certainly not everyone will have equal access. This is a mess of a decision and I think it's going to change the country going forward.

Yup….for all those who said it wasn’t going to happen? Susan Collins can go F herself….I will never vote R again, they are doing their best to bring this country back into the dark ages….

Dave, you are a good guy but are sometimes very naive….the writing was always on the wall here….
