Wasn't sure where to put this, but we need a thread for the wing nuts. Lauren Boebert.

it happens a lot for sure.I seem to recall Hillary getting flayed alive in 2016 for saying that this happens
I had a coworker once who would run you over on the way home. Her husband knew how long it took her to get home and she better not take longer. We had each other cell phone#'s for work reasons. I got a call from a number i didn't know, so i didn't answer it. it called right back so i answered it, but no one replied. I get to work and tell my coworker about it. she looks at the number and says thats her husband's number. She apologized, but come to find out he did that to everyone in her contact list he didn't know. But she was with him for a good while, but i knew he beat her. she finally left him, but some other coworkers had to help her with a new place to live (he had a couple small houses for rent). But if you were on yuor way home and she was behind you, she would pass on the shoulder. i even saw here run through the bars at a train crossing, barely making it accross. but she knew she had to be home by a certain time... crazy..i have never met one of these submissive, men are in charge women in my life. Not one. Every woman I have dated, worked with, or just know in general, I have never met a woman who had been brainwashed like this.
Where do they come from? Who raises their daughter this way? This is actual child abuse, imo, not the pearl clutching over teaching kids there are gay people in the world.
You have to basically break their spirit and individualism and remold them in your vision of servitude. In the name of Jeebus. That is ghoulish.
I’m putting this here because I just came across this thread on Twitter and I cannot believe what I am reading. This lady has been told she isn’t allowed to vote by her husband and she’s fine with that. But what truly got to me was the number of women in the replies who said - that’s cutting your household out of a vote - my husband tells me who to vote for. Just matter of fact, like that’s totally normal.
One person in the replies said - until they repeal the 19th, I will vote as my husband tells me so that our household gets another vote.
I never knew this was a thing in conservative churches. Not to this extent. The way conservative women vote makes a little more sense now tbh. They aren’t voting, their husbands are.

I also knew this one guy at work, he didn't seem like a wife beater or anything, but he was the kind who wouldn't let his wife get her nails done, he had to give her permission to buy clothes, etc. I have no doubt he was the kind who told her how to vote, if he even let her vote at all.

I briefly had a co worker like that. Her husband expected dinner to be on the table at 6pm on the dot. Not 6:05, not 5:50. 6!
Snow storm? No excuse
Major accident with 3 lanes of a 4 lane highway shut down? No excuse
Your mother was rushed to the hospital? No excuse
At home sick as a dog with flu? Even less of an excuse, you're already here
And she said that plenty of times he didn't get home until after 6, but that was A-OK
Once he was out of town, on the other side of the country on a business trip. Reprieve? Nope. Dinner at 6 o'clock
I never knew or asked what happened if dinner wasn't ready at 6. But I knew she was terrified of it not being ready
Dave, just judging from Twitter I do think there are some major evangelical denominations that are being led in this direction. Shoot, my MIL was asked to be a deacon in their church 30-some years ago, and she turned it down because she believed that women shouldn’t hold any type of leadership position. And she was not the type to have come to that conclusion herself and my FIL was definitely not trying to control her. She got it from some sort of church teaching. I just would have thought it would have faded away by now - but I am seeing all sorts of this type of talk online by evangelicals that I follow on Twitter. There may be some of that, but I think that isn't all that common in most mainstream denominations. I mean, I've never seen any of that during my days as a minister and I always encouraged women to participate fully in the political process. Women voting for their husbands is not something I ever saw. If anything, it's the other way around. Last election, my wife trying to get me to vote for Trump. Go figure. Lol.
I can easily guess what happened. Sadly.I briefly had a co worker like that. Her husband expected dinner to be on the table at 6pm on the dot. Not 6:05, not 5:50. 6!

That’s what we all wondered
Well, the SBC is trying to go back to the stone ages with their insistence that women can't be pastors/ministers, but most other denominations don't agree with that. The denomination I was and still part of to some degree encourages women to become ministers and pastors. I mean, I agree it should have faded by now, but it hasn't. That said, the loudest on Twitter have definitely been the biggest idiots, but when you consider their actual numbers, they're a really small subset of a subset of the population.Dave, just judging from Twitter I do think there are some major evangelical denominations that are being led in this direction. I sure hope so. It’s heartbreaking reading about women who held posts at SBC churches where their title was youth pastor or music pastor, and they are being forced to give it up.Well, the SBC is trying to go back to the stone ages with their insistence that women can't be pastors/ministers, but most other denominations don't agree with that. It absolutely is, and there are idiots celebrating that on Twitter. It's sickening.I sure hope so. It’s heartbreaking reading about women who held posts at SBC churches where their title was youth pastor or music pastor, and they are being forced to give it up.
The margin was roughly 70-30, but, yeah, it was rigged.
