    Honestly, I just can’t believe my family members who supported Trump agree with the things he says. In fact, more than one have told me they don’t like the way he talks and acts. I just think they have consumed so much propaganda about how terrible democrats are that they think he is the lesser of 2 evils. They believe all the communist/socialist crap that Fox and others spew. It’s really sad.
     
    Why are so many on the right just bat shirt crazy? I forgot about this nut job, they will hunt Republicans? 🤦‍♀️

    He actually had an interesting theory....he thinks that the House should call Trump as a witness, and give him immunity in exchange for his testimony. He thinks that would stop the prosecutions of Trump by Jack Smith.

    I have seen the change in my father in law since Trump was elected. he says things "jokingly" that he would have never said prior.
    but also, there is a difference in a Trump supporter and a true MAGA. some people support Trump basically because he's the GOP right now. MAGAs are more than just your run of the mill 'Trump is a Republican so I'll support him..'
     


    I haven’t seen Barbie, nor read much about it. I did see a thread today where someone explained that Barbie is satire. It is supposed to show how ridiculous it is when one gender is relegated to second class status. It is attacking the patriarchy. This is why it drives misogynists crazy.

    If anyone did see the movie, I’d be interested in hearing whether you agree with that take.

    Yeah, it's not subtle. It's a great movie, though. I loved it.

    Here are some of the unhinged arguments given in OH by people who want to restrict ballot initiatives to a 60% threshold. Even though it’s been 50% for over 100 years and they’ve only had 19 initiatives pass. (going from memory - feel free to correct me if I have those numbers wrong)

     
    I’m putting this here because I just came across this thread on Twitter and I cannot believe what I am reading. This lady has been told she isn’t allowed to vote by her husband and she’s fine with that. But what truly got to me was the number of women in the replies who said - that’s cutting your household out of a vote - my husband tells me who to vote for. Just matter of fact, like that’s totally normal.



    One person in the replies said - until they repeal the 19th, I will vote as my husband tells me so that our household gets another vote.

    I never knew this was a thing in conservative churches. Not to this extent. The way conservative women vote makes a little more sense now tbh. They aren’t voting, their husbands are.
