Snowflake libs can't take a joke: Take 356,981
=================================

A right-wing priest has been defrocked after mimicking Elon Musk’s controversial salute while addressing a pro-life convention.

Father Calvin Robinson, 39, spoke at the National Pro-Life Summit in Washington D.C. last weekend where he claimed that the U.S. is the “only country fighting for life”.

Robinson concluded his speech by thumping his chest and raising his right hand to the sky. “My heart goes out to you,” he said with a wry smile as he exited the stage.

The priest’s actions – and remarks – appeared to emulate those made by Musk who, at Donald Trump’s post-inauguration rally on January 20, beat his chest and shot his right hand – twice – uttering the same phrase. Musk denies his gesture was a Sieg Heil, or had Nazi connotations.

Addressing a viral video of his remarks on Wednesday, Robinson tweeted he received a raft of “nasty calls, texts, voicemails and emails” from “very bitter, angry, vile leftists.”

“My heart goes out to you,” he repeated along with a salute emoji.

Robinson, from Nottinghamshire in England, belonged to the UK Anglican Catholic Church – before he was defrocked and had his license revoked...............

“Mr. Robinson had been warned that online trolling and other such actions (whether in service of the left or right) are incompatible with a priestly vocation and was told to desist,” the church wrote in a notice on its website on Wednesday.

“Clearly, he has not, and as such, his license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC.”

On Thursday, Robinson reduced his actions to a “joke” that was poorly taken by “hysterical liberals”............

Only in America where you will find a Bishop, that pleaded for mercy on the behalf of others, be ridiculed by POTUS and threatened by many of the same people that will champion this clown's actions. Good job, America! :9:

UFC president and CEO Dana White criticized Bryce Mitchell for making anti-Semitic and homophobic comments on a podcast during which the featherweight also praised Adolf Hitler and denied the Holocaust.

But, citing freedom of expression, White said the organization would not take any disciplinary actions against Mitchell.

“I’ve heard a lot of dumb and ignorant shirt said over the years, but this is probably the worst,” White said in a statement released by the UFC. “First of all, when you talk about Hitler, he was responsible for the death of 6 million Jews and it was his intent to completely eliminate the Jewish people.”

White said the UFC let Mitchell know what he said was unacceptable.

“Hitler is one of the most disgusting and evil human beings to ever walk the Earth, and anyone that even tries to take an opposing position is a moron,” White said. “That’s the problem with the internet and social media. You provide a platform to a lot of dumb and ignorant people.”

Mitchell, who competes in the featherweight division of MMA’s largest promotion, made the comments on the first episode of his ArkanSanity Podcast, where he suggested that Hitler was a “good guy” who “fought for his country”.

“Here’s what I say about [Elon Musk] heiling Hitler, heiling the Nazis: I really don’t think that he was, because I honestly think that Hitler was a good guy based upon my own research, not my public education indoctrination,” Mitchell said.………

Not totalitarian at all 😡

A Tennessee state senator told Newsweek Thursday that representatives were afraid to vote against immigration policies, even if they could be deemed unconstitutional.

Democratic state Senator Heidi Campbell, whose 20th District covers Nashville's inner suburbs, was speaking after state legislators approved a bill Tuesday that would make it illegal for lawmakers to vote for policies perceived as opposing President Donald Trump's agenda—namely sanctuary procedure.

The bill, which includes provision for a state-based immigration enforcement agency, was passed in the state's Republican-led Senate, despite opposition from both GOP and Democratic Party members.

"You don't have to spend a lot of time up at the legislature to see that we are living in a totalitarian state," Campbell told Newsweek.

Google falls in line
==============

Google has confirmed it will rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America on Google Maps in the US, after an executive order from Donald Trump.

It will remain the Gulf of Mexico in Mexico, while users outside of the US and Mexico will see both names on Google Maps. The Alaskan peak Denali, the tallest mountain in North America, will also be changed to Mount McKinley in the US in line with Trump’s executive order on 20 January.

“We have a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government,” said Google in a post on X.

Explaining the different labels for the gulf in the US, Mexico and the rest of the word, Google added: “When official names vary between countries, Maps users see their official local name. Everyone in the rest of the world sees both names. That applies here too.”………

……Americans will see the “Gulf of America” on their Google maps, Mexico will see the “Gulf of Mexico,” and the rest of the world will see both, according to Google.

Sheinbaum objected to Trump and Google’s name grab in a letter addressed to the company that she showed reporters Thursday. But if Google is so cavalierly changing names on its maps, Sheinbaum wants the United States identified as América Mexicana, she said Wednesday.

Sheinbaum recognizes that she has no authority to do so, just as Trump has no power to switch the name of the Gulf of Mexico, she noted.

The U.S. cannot unilaterally change the name of a body of water which it shares with Cuba and Mexico because the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea dictates that an individual country's sovereign territory only extends up to 12 nautical miles from the coastline, she noted.

“If a country wants to change the designation of something in the sea, it would only apply up to 12 nautical miles,” Sheinbaum told reporters. “It cannot apply to the rest, in this case, the Gulf of Mexico. This is what we explained in detail to Google.”

But in a tit for tat, Sheinbaum is calling on Google to display the map of América Mexicana as including regions of the United States.

"We ask that when you put América Mexicana in the search engine, the map appears that we presented,” she told Google.

Trump has not commented on Sheinbaum’s demand.

Google has not responded to questions from The Independent on whether it will include sections of the U.S. on América Mexicana on Google Maps – once the switch is recorded in official Mexican documents, which is apparently the sole Google requirement for such a change.

The name América Mexicana was first seen on maps in 1607. It includes various areas in what is currently known as the United States.……

“When you are flying on an airplane with your loved ones, do you pray that your plane lands safely and gets you to your destination or do pray that your pilot has a certain skin color? I think we all know the answer to that question.”

But when anything at all goes wrong if anyone involved has a "certain skin color" then diversity is the reason the bad thing happened, and they couldn't possibly be qualified for that position and you wish the person/people involved had a certain different skin color

and as always fork MTG

That bullshirt that's coming out of her putrid mouth never happened. That's completely fabricated. I know that and I don't even have to look it up. These people's DEI conspiracy fairytales and which hunt and their W.O.A. (White Only Apply) policy will destroy this country. fork her and her empty birdbrain head.

……….JD Vance has similarly insinuated that even if they can’t find any minorities or women to directly blame for the crash, it was still somehow the fault of DEI.

“When you don’t have the best standards in who you’re hiring, it means on the one hand, you’re not getting the best people in government,” the vice-president said in a press conference on Thursday. “But on the other hand, it puts stresses on the people who are already there.”

This sort of rhetoric isn’t just disgusting; it puts people at risk. Viral posts have been circulating online falsely identifying Jo Ellis, a transgender pilot with the Virginia national guard, as one of the pilots of the Black Hawk helicopter.

One account spreading the lies wrote: “So now that the pilot of the Blackhawk has been identified as Jo Ellis, a transgender woman, can we admit Trump was right about the entire thing, or is it too soon?”

Poor Ellis has had to release a statement on Facebook as “proof of life” in response to these posts.

The fact that the Maga crowd immediately blamed DEI for this tragedy is depressingly predictable. It’s been a longstanding talking point among Trumpers that DEI is to blame for all the ills of the world.

When there was a safety incident on a Boeing plane last year, for example, Elon Musk went on a baseless rant about how the aviation industry had “prioritized DEI hiring over safety”.

He also seemed to endorse a racist tweet suggesting students at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) have lower IQs and therefore shouldn’t become pilots.

To be clear, this is what the Trump crowd’s obsession with DEI is really about: plain old bigotry. Elon Musk has called DEI “just another word for racism”, and he is right, just not in the way he thinks. DEI has become a slur; a nasty euphemism for Black people, brown people, LGBTQ+ people and everyone else Trumpers hate.

What the Maga crowd seem to be saying every time they talk about DEI and meritocracy is that they think white people, particularly white men, are innately superior to everyone else.

What they are saying is that they think the least qualified white man is still more qualified than the most qualified woman of colour.

This sort of attitude didn’t originate with Trump, to be fair. Almost 20 years ago, I remember one of my peers calling me a “diversity hire” to my face when he found out I’d got a job at a law firm he had been rejected from. He simply couldn’t believe there was a scenario in which I might have beaten him on merit.

Still, while this attitude may not be new, what’s different now is the extent to which DEI is being used as a slur by influential figures. What’s different now is the glee with which large corporations are axing their DEI programs, relieved not to have to pretend to care about inclusivity or equity anymore.………
