The MyPillow company and its founder, Mike Lindell, a far-right influencer and acolyte of Donald Trump, are continuing to run a promotion despite criticism that it utilizes numerical symbols associated with neo-Nazism.
The company has been touting a promotion for a pillow with a sale price of $14.88 and it was still on offer on Friday morning.
Apart from being an odd price on its face, the Anti-Defamation League has noted that “1488” is a numeric hate symbol – “14” being a nod to the “14 Words” white supremacist slogan: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children” and “88” being a code for “Heil Hitler”, as H is the eighth letter of the alphabet.
A post from Seth Cotlar, a professor of history at Willamette University, on Bluesky said the promotion was a “disturbing wink at Nazis, wrapped in the seemingly innocuous, plausibly deniable form of an advertisement”.
“I doubt Lindell is behind this or would ever get the reference, but that doesn’t really matter,” Cotlar wrote.
Neo-Nazi groups have worn the “88” in public demonstrations, like one in September of last year in Orlando, Florida, where a group of neo-Nazi demonstrators wearing masks and red shirts and waving swastika flags were seen marching through an Orlando suburb……..

They arrested that Wahl idiot for sending out robo-calls telling people not to vote in the primary didn’t they? And he was also in trouble for sending out fake voting info in 2020, IIRC.
This is really the same thing, except they may have smartened up and they don’t push false voting info, just plain old lies.

The justice department has charged a Florida man for threatening to “call up my Russian-Ukrainian hit squad” to kill his political opponent, the Republican congressional representative Anna Paulina Luna, in 2021.
The department unsealed an indictment against 41-year-old William Robert Braddock III of St Petersburg, Florida on Thursday, alleging that on 8 June 2021 he made multiple threats to hurt and kill Luna – identified as Victim 1 in the indictment – in a phone call with another individual, Victim 2.
Braddock and Luna were candidates in the 2021 Republican primary election in Florida’s 13th congressional district. Victim 2 was identified as a private citizen and acquaintance of Luna.
In 2021, the Associated Press reported that Luna alleged in a Florida court that Braddock was stalking her and had threatened to hurt her.
In her petition at the time for a permanent restraining order, Luna said she received text messages between Braddock and other people in which Braddock allegedly said he wanted to “take me out”. Luna added that others told her the text “means he intends to kill me”.
“I do not feel safe and I am currently in fear for my life from Mr Braddock,” Luna said in the petition.
The justice department said that Braddock subsequently left the US and was living in the Philippines, but was recently deported back to the US, where he made his first court appearance on Thursday in Los Angeles.
Braddock was charged with one count of interstate transmission of a true threat to injure another person. If found guilty, he faces up to five years in prison…….

Let's review the accurate facts:
A lot of Republican voters have been devastated by Helene.
No one has the ability create or control hurricanes. China's massive efforts to create and control rain have virtually no success.
A lot of Republican voters are being rescued and assisted by various governmental and non-governmental agencies.
The vast majority of the people being rescued and assisted are grateful for it and they will be angry at people spreading lies that no one was helping them. Example from Ohio, the parents of the child killed in a car accident speaking out in anger over Trump and Republicans spreading lies and hate that a Haitian immigrant murdered their child.
I think this is going to lose Trump and Republicans more votes than it will gain them or at worst it will be a wash.

Soon after, the hashtag #CancelNetflix started trending on X, in many cases accompanied by photos of people shuttering their accounts, and by July 26 the streaming service had suffered its worst spike in subscription cancellations so far this year, according to Bloomberg.
The rate of account closure, thought to have averaged out at 2.8 percent over that month, apparently even beat that which followed Netflix’s decision to phase out its most basic subscription tier in July last year............
