It looks like he's going to be on the ticket in November. I think he should get his own thread. He's about to become well funded, and it's going to be a professionally run campaign no doubt. I don't think it's out of the question that he get's Perot like numbers, and even if he get's 1/4 of that it could be a disaster for the Biden campaign that is probably looking at a few thousand votes in a few states turning the election anyway.

There is going to be money behind this campaign from all sorts of angles. No matter what anyone thinks about RFK, it would be a terrible mistake to not take this campaign seriously. He might take some from Trump for sure, but he's going to take more of the anti Trump vote from Biden, and Biden can't really spare any votes. Not all people who were going to vote for Biden would disagree with the things RFK has said about vaccines, and he's not going to be spending his time campaigning on just vaccine skepticism.

There are many more people voting for Biden who aren't enthusiastic about Biden than there are on the other side.

Asuper PAC supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has begun polling his support as an Independent, one of the strongest indications to date that the long-shot Democrat is set to announce a party affiliation switch.

The poll, conducted by the firm John Zogby Strategies and commissioned by the American Values 2024 PAC, comes amid growing speculation — fueled by Kennedy himself — that he will leave the Democratic Party in the upcoming weeks.

Seems like RFK's VP pick is smarter than he is in realizing RFK would pull more votes from Trump

“There’s two options that we’re looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and [Tim] Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump,”

“[Or] we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump … and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision.”

Not long after Shanahan’s comments were made public, Trump told CNN’s Kristen Holmes in Michigan he would “certainly” be open to giving Kennedy a role in a future Trump administration.
His entire candidacy was set up by Steve Bannon to try to help Trump. Bannon thought he would mostly pull votes from Biden, he ended up pulling more from Trump.

I don't know how he thought that would work... unless he didn't do any homework on the guy

I really wonder when and where she became radicalized.

Just a guess, but I'm assuming since RFK was originally a declared Democrat he'd pull votes
from Biden. The problem is most Democratic voters are not anti-vaccers. Most of those types
are Trump supporters. I agree he didn't do his homework

Thanks for taking one for the team. You are hereby the new TigerDroppings observer as well. Get to work.

They're so weird. 99% there are unified in hating everything (D), but also fight amongst themselves about other things lol

anyway, I saw a topic about her comment, most there are all for it. They think RFK in charge of Health and Human Services would be a good idea

They must also want to go back to polio and measles.

So Kennedy is doing an “announcement” to the nation this Friday, seemingly at a Trump rally. Same city, same time?

    He’s out, IMO.

It was inevitable - he’s really just a Trump lackey.

I do wonder if (Ds) pushed him, his vp, to decide this. (I've no way of knowing if true) but according to his twitter, they were sued constantly by (Ds), to try to get him off the ballots in states. I wonder if they left him alone, he would not be dropping out? 🤔 Then again, a month (?) or two ago he was on the phone with trump, seemingly collaborating...

For now, lets go with my assumption those lawsuits is what pushed him to drop out. It would have been more strategic to have kept him running, to pull trump votes away.

Thats unfortunate. Trump is probably going to get 90% of those voters now
Doubt many of RFK Jr's voters choose to vote for Harris. I think some of them will choose not to vote at all, instead of voting for Trump. A lot of them were former Trump voters who couldn't bring themselves to vote for Trump again, but would never consider voting for any Democrat. Fingers crossed nearly all of them choose to vote for another third party candidate or to not vote at all.

The money from Trump supporters dried up when they saw he was hurting Trump. He picked his VP for her money, but as it turns out she's very anti-Democratic party too, so she's probably pressuring RFK Jr. to drop out from within the ticket.

So similar to the Nikki conundrum? I don't know how it will all play out, but I prefer any advantage that the Ds can get.

RFK pulling single digit % away from Trump was an advantage. Now Nikki (and probably RFK) backing out and endorsing him is going to make the path to victory even narrower

Okay, I was able to find this discussion about the race going from 3-way to 2-way. This guy seems optimistic about it, FWIW
