The CPD announced this morning that a "virtual" debate would be preferred for the next squaring off between Trump and Biden, driven by Covid concerns. Trump quickly denounced the idea and said he wouldn't participate. There is a history of this kind of debate - Nixon and Kennedy debated from separate locations in 1960, and Reagan and RFK had a remote/virtual debate in 1967.

    This from the Biden one

I think he is doing a solid job and exceeding my low expectations. Biden is giving details while coming of as a decent man. The format is so much better than having Trump interrupt every time Biden talks. He has handled the tough questions well. I think America is could do well with a decent man.

So I didn't watch it live, but I'm watching some of it now.

He was asked, what he will replace Obamacare with, and how will you do it? Like, you know, specifics.

"The problem with Obamacare is that it's not good".

Thank you for that detailed analysis President Trump.

"We want to give a less expensive healthcare that's better"

"Obamacare isn't great, I want to give great healthcare"

LOL - did you expect better?

This reminds me of a person that had to do a book report, but never read the book, and tries to wing it

No, but in these town halls it frustrates me more.

I'm watching Biden's now. He is actually giving examples, talking about an issue, the side issues, how he'd do it, he comes back to the person who asked the question, and he's been following up by making sure if he 'answered the question', which to me, seems like a resounding yes. He's not waffling at all.

    It is an amazing contrast.

I’m genuinely impressed he hung around to answer questions.
I went to one small gathering for Mayor Pete. Sadly, Pete wasn't there, but his husband Chasten was there. Chasten stuck around afterwards and just chatted a bunch of people up. I decided to hang back and just observe.

stuff like that sticks out. That people matter to them.
