Now is not the time to talk about gun control (1 Viewer)

It's obvious and been like that for years.
Yet you fail to prove any of it or provide any links.
    Utter failure.
Uh-hu. All those trans-hate ads Trump and all Republicans ran during the election were just for shirts and giggles.
Still got your Trump-derangement syndrome showing!
The ads were effective to a degree.
But here are the issues foremost on voter minds in 2024.
Do note the alphabet groups were sitting at around 4%, which most folks would be willing to concede is very low.

    🙄 🙄 🙄

Still no proof for what you claimed, I see.
Funny how you claimed it was a hard thing to say when it turns out proving that bull was infinitely harder for you, as you haven't even attempted to prove your claim.

I don't even know what you're talking about. This conversation ended two post ago. I'm just looking at you and rolling my eyes. The harder you try to disprove me, the more foolish you look doing it because you have to deny the obvious.

You made a claim I called you out on it, now you run while pretending you know nothing. Or maybe you aren't pretending.
    Here are your unsupported claims:
"It's comical that any Republican voter would complain about one-issue voters. 30% of GOP voters are one issue anti-abortion/anti-LGBTQ+ voters, 20% are one issue 2nd Amendment/No Gun Control voters, 20% are one issue anti-tax/trickle down economic voters and 20% are one issue anti-Immigration voters. 90% of the GOP voters are one issue voters. "

    Good talk.

Well here are some official numbers

"A Gallup poll from May 2024 indicates that 32% of U.S. voters would only support candidates who share their views on abortion. This includes 22% of pro-life voters that aligns with the Republican Party."

And "bla bla bla.." is a very immature response to another poster. Do better.

Yes, that's been obvious for decades now. We've had many Republican one issue voters throughout the years on this board. This is nothing new. Back in the 2000's, I was a one-issue anti-abortion religious voter.

You will deny it, but it's still true. There isn't a poll that's going to "prove" that, but you also don't have to be Einstein to realize the obvious. The percentages may be a little different, but they are not far off.

So you make a claim and can't support it. Good to know.
You could always provide evidence instead of laughing about your failure.

It would help support his claim if you knew what he claimed.
And when people start flapping their gums about Trump when he isn't the topic, it is an appropriate response. Sorry you don't like it, but that isn't my problem.
I gave links to support myself.

Come on people, this level of dialogue is not worth engaging with.

He either doesn't understand the difference between offering thoughts & prayers and trying to take actions to improve a situation, and just offering thoughts & prayers while conspicuously not only not trying to take actions but also actively opposing actions, or he does understand the difference and is just trolling.

Neither one is worthy of your time.
Agreed, y'all are just feeding a very hungry troll here.....

Also we have twice as many guns in the country as we did 50 years ago.
This right here. Exactly this. The more guns there are, the easier it is for kids to get their hands on one. I have no idea why he won’t admit that simple fact.

Now we have the real problem exposed.
    Obviously.
Let me quote one of my favorite authors,

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge (Asimov)
No matter what is said, an opinion remains just that—an opinion. It holds no real weight unless it is grounded in facts. This is one of the deep-rooted problems in our society today. People are increasingly living in "alternate realities," where opinions are valued more than proven facts, distorting everything. A hurricane doesn't change its path because someone draws a line on a map with a marker. A disease cannot be cured by injecting bleach, no matter how many times it’s claimed. And the forest fires and fish dying in overheated oceans won’t simply disappear because someone insists that climate change is a hoax.

"You think" is an opinion, and when it isn’t based on actual facts, it becomes a real problem. It reflects a blatant disregard for reality, allowing falsehoods to thrive. Facts matter, and ignoring them has real and often devastating consequences.
