I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.


That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?






Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

Nope. Not accurate. See my posts above about the collection of files that one of Bannon’s buddies is trying to pass off as “the laptop”. There are some emails on there that could be verified, about 2% of the total number of files. There were lots of folders and files added to this “laptop” after the actual laptop was picked up by the FBI. So no, they didn’t state it was “all real”. Not even close.

Funny how all this is coming out now that Biden numbers are tanking and I think there will be a push even in the D party to distance them from Biden in the primaries. I would not be surprised if the D party moves for impeachment. Unlikely, but not surprising.

Also strange that now this is proven true well after the election. Probably would have been something to think about on election day (corruption) if the media and social media go out of their way to hide it, not let it be shared (the Post story) and several 'heads' of intelligence came out and stated that is was disinformation.

It’s like you don’t read the words. The “laptop” is just a bunch of files on a Zip drive presented to the media by a Steve Bannon flunkie. Many folders and files were added to this drive after the actual laptop was in the custody of the FBI. The Zip drive evidently contains about 2% emails that seem to be verifiable, but even then we cannot be sure because they could be the result of a hacked email account. But the 2% emails that are verified (sorta) don’t contain anything incriminating.

Hunter might be in tax trouble, and guess what? I don’t care. He’s not part of the administration.

The disinformation is that there is proof of corruption on the actual hard drive - which nobody but the FBI has. You will seemingly suspend all common sense to pound a square peg into a round hole if it serves a narrative you desperately want to be true. It’s amazing.

You guys spend all this time pretzeling your logic to say that there’s no Russian collusion, when it is right there in front of you, but you want to believe in this voodoo laptop that doesn’t exist outside of the halls of the FBI. And which the Trump FBI had for months both before the election and before his term ended, and yet did nothing with. It makes zero sense.

Not sure who Jack Pig Ball Sack is, I have not idea what Shapiro thinks on this. I said this was a possible plan right after he was elected and I stand by it. He is a liablity at this point going into the mid-terms and everyone knows it. You can see the radical left wing pushing against his admin.

Maybe. I can't say I pay much attention to the radical left. It's more practical to think Biden simply does not run again in 2024. I don't think anything relative to the presidency will have any impact on the midterms at this point.

Maybe. I can't say I pay much attention to the radical left. It's more practical to think Biden simply does not run again in 2024. I don't think anything relative to the presidency will have any impact on the midterms at this point.

I also don't think there is not much hope to salvage anything for the Dems before the mid-terms, but then again, don't ever underestimate the power of stupid on the Republican's side. They will, without a doubt do something completely and utterly stupid just before the mid-terms and shoot themselves in the foot. It is a given.

I am a standard angry-white-guy and I have no idea who that is. I know who Shapiro is but never heard of Jack whatever. I have enough anger in my life, so I won't be looking him up.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of eating lunch at a place with fox news on the tv. Topics were "calls for naming it invasion on the border", something hunter biden, "Obama outshines biden" with a video of Biden standing alone. Not one peep of Ukraine in the hour long viewing. The fortunate part though is that I didnt get to listen to it. I had read that fox news day time was legitimate news?

And I hope the European members read this because I sincerely want to understand their views on this wave of autocracy in europe. What are your reaction to hungary's election considering the state owned media gave near zero coverage to the opposition and hungary's extreme gerrymandering. And how should the EU react to it? Especially soon after the victory, oban named zelensky an enemy along with news that Hungary will pay for russian energy with roubles. Similarly, le pen is polling well in France. Even in Poland where the courts independence is in question is a concern.
