I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.


That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?






Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

I actually agree with that video. Most GOP should be voted out. I also think all Dems should be voted out. It is all politial theatre at this point as very few politicians are corrupt.

I just don't buy there is clear cut good guy vs. bad guy in this scenario. Obviously, Russia started it but I find it hard to believe that Ukraine is the shining example of purity and democracy that must be defended by American blood, equipment fine.

You might be right. I don't trust our media or politicians so maybe I can't see the entire truth of the war, but that is the nature of war.

You cannot trust your eyes and ears because you have been very carefully conditioned to not trust them. Just go by the facts, man, it’s not that hard.

fact: Russia invaded Ukraine. Putin himself said he didn’t respect their right to be a sovereign country despite having signed an agreement years ago supporting their sovereignty. He has gone back on his word.

Fact: Russian troops are bombing civilian targets indiscriminately. You can see the results. You can see the injured and killed civilians. These are potentially war crimes.

fact: Russia is not allowing humanitarian aid into Mariupol. This is said by the The Red Cross. Russia is not allowing women and children to leave Mariupol. This is also potentially a war crime.

Why is this hard for you? its not hard, there’s no gray zone.

I can certainly admit that there are “spins” being put out by both nations. Both Russia and Ukraine sources are putting out data to support their positions. But the stuff coming out of Russia, about Ukraine being a Nazi nation is pure propaganda. Are there some Nazis in Ukraine, of course, Ukraine is a free country, unlike Russia. Every free country has some Nazis, it’s part of the cost of freedom. Is Ukraine government a Nazi government? Of course not. That is absurd. Zelensky is half Jewish and is not a Nazi. It’s all a lie by Russia, which allows no freedom in that country and controls what it’s citizens are allowed to say. I will always take the side of a free country over a totalitarian one. Every day.

So at no point ever in your life have you thought someone was a woman (by your "eyes and ears") and found out you were wrong? Or thought someone was a man and found out you were wrong?

I would find that incredibly hard to believe.

Nope, I am pulling for Ukraine. Not a fan of invasions and I like Ukraine when I visited. Great and superbly nice people.

I am just not believing the hype that is such a black and white war. Being an alt right wing nutjob, I don't trust the media, especially when they are all behind the same narrative. That won't stop me from rooting for Ukraine.

It is usually 6 months to a year for 'conspiracy theories' or 'Russian disinformation' to be proven true and then completely ignored by the media. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Biden won't go to jail, he is not smart enough to think of election fraud, not that I think there was in the sense you think I do.
