I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.

That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?

Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

Right-wing media are so desperate for D's tears, they can't even comprehend how stupid these types of questions are.

Yeah, that’s such a cringy middle school type of question. I used to think better of him than that.

Fox News host Jesse Watters appeared to say the quiet part out loud as he admitted that he will be asking the Trump administration for “special favors.”

On Jesse Watters Primetime on Wednesday night, the conservative media pundit and staunch Donald Trump supporter celebrated the president-elect’s latest picks for jobs in his second term including the controversial choices of Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence and Matt Gaetz for attorney general.

Watters boasted of his ties to some of those headed for the most powerful jobs in government, with his former Fox Newscolleague Pete Hegseth tapped to become Trump’s future defense secretary.

He then went on to suggest that he might seek to use those ties to his advantage.

“Trump’s picking stars he can trust to catch his back and enact his agenda. And they’re rolling them out fast and fun,” Watters said.

“The country senses it’s on the precipice of massive change and we’re excited.

“And I’m not just saying that because I know the entire cabinet and that I’ll be asking for special favors.”

With a brief pause, he added: “Probably inappropriate, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.”

What special favors Watters was alluding to remains unclear.

“A new golden age isn’t just a slogan, it’s a promise. Trump’s victory and these cabinet picks are raising our expectations because we deserve to have our expectations raised,” Watters added.……

After agreeing to take meetings with journalists, President-elect Donald Trump says he’s “not looking for retribution” against the press, but warns if they don’t treat him fairly, “that will end.”

Despite calling for two networks’ broadcast licenses to be revoked and wanting a third to be investigated for treason on the campaign trail, now that he has been re-elected, Trumpassured he has no plans to exact revenge on the media.

“I am not looking for retribution, grandstanding or to destroy people who treated me very unfairly, or even badly beyond comprehension,” he told Fox News Digital. But he also acknowledged that he “obviously” has “the upper hand at this moment.”

He added: “I am always looking to give a second and even third chance, but never willing to give a fourth chance — that is where I hold the line.”……

Donald Trump has sworn he will exact retribution on his political rivals and critics - and that includes members of the press. The president-elect is already demanding that Republicans in Congress kill bipartisan legislation that would protect American journalists from surveillance by the federal government, and help shield the confidential sources or whistleblowers who speak to journalists from retaliation by law enforcement.

The PRESS Act - which was introduced by Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and Kevil Kiley (R-Cal.) - passed the Republican-controlled House with bipartisan support in January, and has been languishing in the Senate for almost a year now.

On Wednesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social that "REPUBLICANS MUST KILL THIS BILL!" alongside a link to a PBS News segment interviewing Jodie Ginsberg, head of the Committee to Protect Journalists and an advocate for the legislation.

On Monday, the president-elect told Fox News that it's "vital" to support a "free, fair, and open media," but his rhetoric on social media, and the plans he laid out on the campaign trail, paint a very different picture.

Earlier this month, just two days before the election, Trump told attendees at a rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania, that he wouldn't mind if a would-be assassin shot through members of the media in order to make an attempt on his life...........
