I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.

That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?

Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

It doesn't matter. They have abandoned their last shreds of trying to appear neutral to boost the same person who was talked about possibly being replaced as VP 2 years ago to now someone who everyone on the left is excited about.

Did you conveniently forget that the GOP in 2020 didn’t even put a party platform together? And that it didn’t bother you one bit?

Also, saying we know nothing about her stances is disingenuous at best. She’s been in elected office for decades, and has a voting record in the senate and in her official duties as President of the Senate these last 4 years.

I am sure the Democratic Party will put forth an official platform for her in time for the convention, in the meantime, she is giving speeches nearly daily that outline her beliefs.

They had audio issues. They tried to add real time fact checking and he said no.
Ha! The tangerine did indeed stalled because he didn't want to be fact checked. What a low intelligence coward.

    • Lemon told Axios, "There were audio problems, but they were resolved very quickly."
    • "The bigger problem was his threat not to take the stage when he had agreed to go on. He did not want to be fact-checked, but we could not let him on the stage without fact-checking," Lemon said.

Don Lemon suing X for his cancelled show after one episode (when he asked Elon some questions he didn't like)
    =================================================

Elon Musk claims he nixed a content partnership with Don Lemon because the ex-CNN journalist "made a series of impressively insane demands." The tech billionaire's comments came a day after Lemon sued Musk and X (formerly known as Twitter), alleging breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation and more over the canceled pact.

The tech billionaire's comments came a day after Lemon sued Musk and X (formerly known as Twitter), alleging breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation and more over the canceled pact.

"He made a series of impressively insane demands. We declined. Therefore, there was no deal," Musk wrote on X Friday.

A rep for Lemon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Lemon's lawsuit is seeking unspecified monetary damages. According to the suit, Musk and X agreed to pay Lemon $1.5 million with additional ad revenue-sharing terms and other incentives. Lemon did not have a signed contract with X, but he was assured by Musk that there was "no need for a formal written agreement or to ‘fill out paperwork,'" according the lawsuit.

In January 2024, Lemon announced a partnership with Musk and X to host an interview show available exclusively on the X platform and create other original content. Musk ended the partnership in March via a text message to Lemon's agent with the words "contract is canceled," according to the journalist's lawyers............

The reason he’s called The Head liar. In a nutshell, the X President who refuses to participate in a forum if he is fact checked. We just don’t need, want, or can stand a habitual Liar in any leadership position, whose purpose in life is fooling people for his personal benefit, $ and power. Truth is like a searing light that singes him.

I'm neither a lawyer nor a business expert, but texting "contract is canceled" seems to negate the move to avoid a written agreement.

Lawrence has a point about press deferment to Trump. Personally, I think part of it is a natural unwillingness to dunk on someone who is exceedingly dumb and mentally unwell. it is also part fear of his cult targeting them and their families with death threats as well. It’s not right for them to defer to him, but they all seem to do it.

Lawrence was on fire tonight. He calls out most of the media for being deferential - again - today when Trump did his fake news conference where he answered no questions. He did talk after he was asked questions, he just didn’t give any answers.

This is the media’s big shame. Their total failure to meet the moment of someone like Trump.
