Looks like the fight is on with Israeli soldiers and civilians amongst the dead already. Question becomes, how long before we get dragged into this?

Never said it was my decision to make for someone else.

I was stating my opinion. Sorry it hurt your feelings.
Since you are being completely ruled by your feelings here, maybe don’t make fun of other people for their feelings? Just a suggestion.

In regard to the students all across the country protesting genocide, an interesting and I believe informative read:

I think the students at my Alma mater is trying the same tact. They are demanding ut divest from any investment into the military. I don't know the current endowments worth atm, but I believe it's was second only to Havard. Of course Abbotts a douche and ordered the state police to make arrests immediately.

Protests for divestment are fine. What I have seen in some of these protests is not. Surrounding and harassing single Jewish students, preventing them from walking by, speakers at the protests saying how happy they were when they first heard about the October massacre. Some of these people have lost the plot.

This mess is a wet dream for our adversaries. Any number of foreign and domestic malcontents can so easily fan the flames of these protests. Best thing to do is remove the non students and let the students have their protests.

Agreed, but easier said than done. I don't know how you distinguish between non students and students unless you're going through the crowd and IDing everyone.

Most of the protests against the Gaza genocide across US campuses have been peaceful. There are always bad apples here or there. There’s no room for attacking anyone because of their religion or race or ethnicity. Period. Lock em away and toss the key.

That being said, I’m extremely proud of the students all across this nation for making a stand against what’s going on in Gaza.

    The kids are still alright.

Agreed. It's easy to blame everyone when harassment happens. But, as far as I know, most of the students just want the genocide to stop. They don't do anything illegal.

Because that's what the media chooses to show and report. Peaceful protests don't generate clicks. It works and responses here are proof it does.

I don't really care if MAGA takes over if we are going to participate in ethnic cleansing with Biden.

I’m assuming you live in the United States. Correct me if I’m wrong about that assumption.

You don’t care about women’s rights?

You don’t care about civil rights?

You don’t care about the wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ community?

You don’t care about the separation of church and state?

You don’t care about who is filling judicial vacancies and how that will affect the future of progress in the U.S.? (We’re already living the consequences of this from the 2016 election in real time.)

War is atrocious and Netanyahu needs to be reined in, but I can’t understand a willingness to usher in domestic threats because of complicated, longstanding geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East.

There are dire consequences you’re willing to accept when you say you don’t care if MAGA takes over. (Edit: and make no mistake, those consequences will extend globally, including Palestine.)

    Correct.

If we don't care about genocide, then we don't deserve anything.

I imagine that feels like a well-principled idea to you. It’s not.

A willingness to amplify human suffering because of a war in a region that is historically mired in conflict, in which there’s plenty of blame to go around, undermines any notion that you are actually persuaded by human suffering.

Not really concerned about what anyone else thinks.

Not really concerned about what anyone else thinks.

Of course you don’t have to have that concern, yet here we are, exchanging thoughts publicly on a message board.

I am concerned what other people think because I take the ramifications of elections, in our political climate, very seriously.

I’m not going to abandon vulnerable and marginalized groups in the U.S., the future of progress, our democracy, because of war between Israel and Hamas.

I don't care more about people in the US than I do people anywhere else.

The US has the power, our people should suffer a little more. We've had it too good for too long.

Women have had it good for too long? LGBTQ+ people have had it good for too long? Racial minorities have had it good for too long?

I don’t know much about you and I’d have to trust you to be honest about your situation to believe what you’re vulnerabilities would be if MAGA regains power, but I don’t dismiss the consequences that will befall a lot of people if Trump wins the election.

Everyone in the US has had it too good for too long, even the poorest most oppressed person.
