Russia continues to mass assets within range of Ukraine - though the official explanations are that they are for various exercises. United States intelligence has noted that Russian operatives in Ukraine could launch 'false flag' operations as a predicate to invasion. The West has pressed for negotiations and on Friday in Geneva, the US Sec. State Blinken will meet with the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.

Certainly the Russian movements evidence some plan - but what is it? Some analysts believe that Putin's grand scheme involves securing Western commitments that NATO would never expand beyond its current composition. Whether that means action in Ukraine or merely the movement of pieces on the chess board remains to be seen.

VIENNA — No one expected much progress from this past week’s diplomatic marathon to defuse the security crisis Russia has ignited in Eastern Europe by surrounding Ukraine on three sides with 100,000 troops and then, by the White House’s accounting, sending in saboteurs to create a pretext for invasion.

But as the Biden administration and NATO conduct tabletop simulations about how the next few months could unfold, they are increasingly wary of another set of options for President Vladimir V. Putin, steps that are more far-reaching than simply rolling his troops and armor over Ukraine’s border.

Mr. Putin wants to extend Russia’s sphere of influence to Eastern Europe and secure written commitments that NATO will never again enlarge. If he is frustrated in reaching that goal, some of his aides suggested on the sidelines of the negotiations last week, then he would pursue Russia’s security interests with results that would be felt acutely in Europe and the United States.

There were hints, never quite spelled out, that nuclear weapons could be shifted to places — perhaps not far from the United States coastline — that would reduce warning times after a launch to as little as five minutes, potentially igniting a confrontation with echoes of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Biden forced people to take the Covid vaccine if they wanted to keep their job or stay in the military,
No he didn't. No one was forced to do anything. I know because I worked there.
violated the 1st ammendment through censorship according to 4 federal judges,
No, he didn't. I can see why you think that, but you'd be wrong.
he's trying to jail his political opponent, etc. Who likes authoritarians?
No, he didn't and isn't. Unless you think he controls the entire judiciary system.
You just like war and makes excuses for the foreign policy mistakes, destroying other countries and all the death and destruction that goes along with it.
No one here likes war. It's always a last resort. And Russia is the one who declared war, period.

Why are you against Georgia being able to identify which other countries are trying to interfere in their country through NGOs?

    The framing is hilarious.

I linked an associated press article that explained why Georgians are protesting. Here is the quote:

The opposition denounces the bill as “the Russian law” because Moscow uses similar legislation to stigmatize independent news media and organizations critical of the Kremlin.

Could it be some Georgians hate Russia, and don't want Russian style censorship? No, no, no it must be the United Fruit Company.

Yes the framing is hilarious. The framing to the opposition uses the same idiotic blame Russia narrative that you hear in the US.

But as the prime minister said, they are worried about the US pushing a coup and using CIA backed NGOs like they did in Ukraine. This seems like a reasonable response to that.

Making other countries be identified if they fund more than 20% of a NGO in Georgia is like Russia style censorship?

Funny that you take the Prime Minister's word as gold and completely ignore the democratically elected Georgian President thoughts on her country and its parliament ties to its invader, Russia.

The invader is the CIA and that's why they want the funding of the NGOs disclosed. That's a reasonable approach. Yeah disclosing that funding is so divisive.

They US is trying to push a coup just like they did in Ukraine. Also, the Prime Minister is a member of the ruling party in Georgia.

Good lord you can't help yourself, lol. Keep ignoring the obvious I suppose.

    This is a lie.

    or stay in the military
This is true - tell me, how many vaccines do the armed forces have to take? Do you think obeying an order in the military should be optional? lol.

violated the 1st ammendment through censorship according to 4 federal judges
May have violated - you’re misstating the case. Even they didn’t say it was 100% and it is up before the Supreme Court is it not?

he's trying to jail his political opponent
    This is a lie.

This is a personal attack, and once again a lie. You cannot show me where this poster has said any such thing.

You must not read what you repost here.

That guys first tweet is from a year ago, right after the first protest about the same law.

He was wrong. There was no coup.

The people are protesting the same as last time.

Why do you struggle so much with basic comprehension?

Google Mike Benz. Look for an NBC article about his alt-right alter ego that he tried to keep anonymous. I posted it in another thread just recently. This is the “expert” SFL is promoting. lol.

Also, the Prime Minister is a member of the ruling party in Georgia.
And the President of Georgia was elected by a majority of the people in Georgia.

That means that the majority of the citizens support the President's of Georgia view that the law, that @SaintForLife and the Prime Minster of Georgia are championing, is designed by Russia to enable Russia to censor the press in Georgia.

That's why the majority of the citizens are opposed to the proposed law and are protesting against. That's why the free press in Georgia are protesting the proposed law. That's why the democratically elected president of Georgia has vowed to veto the law if it is passed by the parliament.

Putin and Russia have compromised and co opted members of the Georgian parliament. This law is written by Russia for Russia's benefit, not for the benefit of the people of Georgia.

Of course Putin's Russia is going to lie and say that the US is trying to control the people of Georgia and is stoking opposition to the law, because Putin's Russia always falsely accuses others of interfering in the countries that Putin's Russia is the one doing the actual interfering.

I honestly don't understand why @SaintForLife actively searches for Putin's Russia's lies and then rushes here to repost every single one of Putin's Russia's lies that they can find.

I keep finding myself thinking, "what is @SaintForLife's deal?" Why are they so hellbent on finding and sharing every single one of Putin's Russia's lies?

And why do they put their fingers in their ears whenever somone tries to reason with them or show them evidence of the actual truth?

You must not know how to read well or recognize patterns. He was talking about the normal US fingerprints when we are looking to covertly influence other countries with the CIA and the NGOs they fund.

Why in the world would we be using USAID to fund censorship in Georgia? I'm guessing you have no idea who and what USAID does do you?

    Also, this sounds familiar:

I'm going to break this down for you like I've done on other topics:

    1. Russia invades Georgia.
    2. Georgian lawmakers try to pass Russian style censorship law. - 2023
    3. Protest. - 2023
    4. Law is scuttled, and protest end. 2023
    5. Mike Benz - "Keep your eye on Georgia"
    6. NOTHING HAPPENS FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR.
    7. Back to bullet point 2 - Georgian lawmakers try to pass Russian style censorship law. - 2024
    8. Protest. - 2024
    9. You start cluttering up this thread with a guy who was clearly wrong. WHY??

I love how you NEVER bring up covert, and overt Russian influencing. Russia invaded, and controls 20 percent of Georgia. You sound like an idiot talking about the CIA.

It's honestly funny that in your worldview, what does Ukraine, and Georgia have in common? CIA MEDDLING!!!!

One last time, please stop talking about geopolitics.

P.S. You are so Russian, and conspiracy pilled. I'm starting to think I'm talking to John from the Metarie Oblast.

Russia invaded Georgia in 2008. Why didn’t you list the year when Russia invaded? So you could act like #1 and #2 were related? 15 years later they pass the law to make NGOs disclose what foreign countries are funding them if its over 20% of their funding. They saw what we did in 2014 in Ukraine so they wanted to prevent the CIA from doing it in their country.

I'm still waiting on you to tell me why that's bad other than RUSSIA! You also ignored the fact that the CIA linked USAID was funding censorship efforts in Gerogia. Why in the world would we be doing that?

It's funny how no matter how many times yall are shown that the CIA is involved in something you just stick your head in the sand and go back to the US empire talking points.

For someone who is as smart as you are, you are incredibly naive about US foreign policy and you obviously lack any intellectual curiosity about the true nature of US foreign policy. You must really enjoy being a bootlicker for the US foreign policy and its war machine.

Russia invaded Georgia in 2008. Why didn’t you list the year when Russia invaded?

Because Russia is still there. They are OCCUPYING 20 percent of Georgia.

The hubris to pretend you know more then the people who live in Georgia. That the citizens of this country are being duped by the CIA.

It was in the AP article you clearly still haven't read. It's used for censorship.

Georgia, and Ukraine are both occupied by Russia. Your galaxy brained idea is that any anti-russia opinions, or sentiment in these countries must be a CIA plot.
