Russia continues to mass assets within range of Ukraine - though the official explanations are that they are for various exercises. United States intelligence has noted that Russian operatives in Ukraine could launch 'false flag' operations as a predicate to invasion. The West has pressed for negotiations and on Friday in Geneva, the US Sec. State Blinken will meet with the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.

Certainly the Russian movements evidence some plan - but what is it? Some analysts believe that Putin's grand scheme involves securing Western commitments that NATO would never expand beyond its current composition. Whether that means action in Ukraine or merely the movement of pieces on the chess board remains to be seen.

Every reporter you cited was reporting on what Putin and Russia claimed.

The "multiple other people" were also reporting or repeating what Russia and Putin told them.

Russia and Putin are the original sources of everything reported in the sources you cited.


You cited US and NATO officials who said that Russia and Putin blamed US and NATO actions for their invasion of Ukraine.

That again is reporting and repeating of the things that Putin and Russia said, it is not the US and NATO saying "yeah, the things that we did are why the US and NATO invaded Ukraine." What they are saying is "yeah, Russia and Putin keep saying that they invaded Ukraine because of things we did."


Actions speak louder and more truthfully than words.

You keep posting and believing reports that are relying on what Russia and Putin say. You either trust what Putin and Russia say or you aren't aware that Russia and Putin are the original sources of all the reports that you trust and believe.

I referenced that Ambassador in regards you claiming that Russia didn't want Ukraine involved in peace talks...

You keep confusing and mashing up two different instances.

You inaccurately claimed that there was an instance in which the US prevented peace talks. In that instance, the US refused to have peace talks without Ukraine which Putin was trying to do in that instance. The US did not stop peace talks, they refused to have peace talks without Ukraine's involvement.

In a different instance, Ukraine did have peace talks with Russia. In that instance, neither NATO or the US blocked any agreements between Ukraine and Putin and Russia. Ukraine made their decisions during those talks of their own free will.

I criticize US foreign policy any and every place I think it deserves criticism. You can see my posts in the Israel Hamas thread for an example.

I don't have any issues with US foreign policy in regards to Putin and Russia's unprovoked, unreasonable, immoral, unnecessary, dishonest and bat sheet crazy invasion of Ukraine.

You continue to equate the US with Putin and Russia. You constantly blame the US for Putin and Russia choosing to invade, murder, rape, pillage and plunder the people of Ukraine.

You speak inaccurately when you say you are critical of Putin and Russia. It's simply not true and your token efforts to create a facade that you are critical of Putin and Russia crumbles every time you post on this subject.

There is some decent evidence via people like Covert Cabal that Putin may have run out/running low on a lot of the Soviet era stockpiles of stuff like artillery barrels.

Putin is insane to think he is keeping all of his captured territory, and his peace terms are to have even more. He should simply sue for peace keeping Crimea and giving the rest of it back.

His "desire" for ceasefire was simply to re-assess, rearm, restock and move again en masse when all had been replenished.

He wants all of Ukraine

Now is the time we not only pass aid for Ukraine, but use draw-down to send them everything we can, all at once.
