A couple of days ago, one of the main US-MX border points of entry was blocked by 1000's of migrants demanding entry into the country, which caused chaos for those who lawfully cross the border on business, for work, or for delivery of goods, both ways.

Lawful border crossings are getting progressively worse across the border, and drug cartels are finding it easier to move product, as the CBP has to transfer personnel and efforts to the processing of migrants.

It's not different on MX's South border. Yesterday, ~5000 migrants stormed into Chiapas all the way to the INM building (INM is immigration) running over fences, barricades, and elements of the National Guard. They are now taking over an ecological park in Tapachula, Chiapas, which it's going to be severely affected, as it's been the case with just about everywhere migrants squat.

Unfortunately, Juan Trump (that's Donald Trump's pet name for the President of México) was bamboozled by his "friend" Donald into making MX a "lobby" for migrants trying to reach the U.S.

Many people would argue that migrants are "good for the economy", but that is not always the case. Billions of dollars leave the U.S. economy every year, because migrants send money from the U.S. to other countries to support families there. The biggest destinations are India and MX, to the tune of 100 billion dollars in 2023 alone, according to the Bank of México (kind of like the MX version of the Fed). These billions of dollars do not circulate in the U.S. economy.

Speaking of inflation, the past year, the U.S. dollar has lost ~20% of its value against the MX peso. One of the main reasons for it, is the amount of money being sent to MX from the U.S. And MX is the U.S. 2nd largest trading partner.

Gregg Abbott is a lot of things, but I don't blame him for his attempts at curbing the hordes of people demanding entry into the U.S., even the busing of migrants to other States, making some put their money where their mouth is, like the Mayor of NYC, who was so welcoming of migrants, until he he got a taste, then went crying to the federal government for more money, while the shelters were at full capacity; shelters which BTW serve the NYC poor as well.

And please, no one mention a wall. There is a wall. A wall can be climbed; a wall can be dug under.; holes can be punched through walls.

Shocker - the extremely “Christian” Speaker is lying about, well, everything.

I acknowledged that the incidents you say happened have happened. I've never denied any of those incidents as happening.
Yet you continue to question my sources as if I was watching Zorro Noticias.

What I've been saying is that your insistence that those incidents are the typical experience or motivation for all of the people traveling through Mexico to the US is unsubstantiated by anything you've posted and they are contradicted by the preponderance of everything else I've read or heard.
I don't know if I'd call them "typical", but sure as heck happen a whole lot; and I never said "all people". Strawman free zone.

I don't know how to substantiate what I posted any way other but posting pictures, videos, and links to newspaper articles.

What exactly have you read or heard? Where? Which sources?

Does the video from the attack on Congress on Jan 6th, 2021 show that all or most Americans attacked the capitol?
This is a ridiculous comparison, but I'll entertain it.... no, the video from the attack on Congress on Jan 6th 2021 does not show all or most Americans attacking the Capitol. Then again, there was only 1 attack on the Capitol, that lasted a few hours, unlike the wave upon wave of thousands of migrants that attempt to cross or cross the border every day, and have been doing it for years, and the dozens of towns the cross...

And, goes without saying, not all or most of the population of Honduras, Salvador, Guatemala, etc come in the caravans.

And the Capitol attack was U.S. citizens attacking the U.S. government. not foreigners, chanting their national anthems, waving their flags, as they throw stones at the MX national guard and destroy INM offices.

Which link was from an Argentinian source and what is the take away for you from that source?

If you don't know this, not all, but links from specific countries have a suffix that tells you which country they come from. The link is the one that ends in .ar.

It is also the link right below the first sentence on that post that reads "News from as far as Argentina"... and where I go on about what the article says.

I'm telling you for the second time, you have no idea what sources of information I use.
... and maybe you'll share your sources eventually...
You haven't even bothered to ask me. You just make assumptions and jump to conclusions without asking.

I think you haven't asked,, because you're not interested in learning the truth. You've already convinced yourself that you know something that you don't actually know and you don't ask, because you don't want to risk learning anything that might clash with what you have already convinced yourself you know.

Condescension is not going to get you anywhere.

Why else would you assume and accuse me of only using US sources without bothering to ever ask me what sources I use?

    So forking post them.

And yet again, you assume that I only rely on US sources of information. Your assumption is wrong, as are most of your assumptions.
    So forking post them already.

For instance, I've mentioned to you before that climate crisis is part of what people are fleeing. I think we should help people fleeing climate crisis, especially because we in the US have been significant contributors to that crisis. You keep overlooking that contributing aspect to the increase in migration.

One of my sources of information on that from 2 years ago https://earth.org/climate-change-is-causing-a-migration-crisis-in-central-america/
Earth.org... seriously?... you expect this morsel to invalidate anything I posted? You got anything better than that? With less bias of the subject? Because that site kind of qualifies for blue pill.

Sure, natural disasters do displace people to an extent (mostly locally)... but it's not like places outside of C.A. don't get floods, erosion, hurricanes, tornadoes, snow storms... and that article only touches on C.A.; makes me curious, Belize, Panama and Costa Rica are in C.A. (and along the dry corridor) as well, and I am sure they are affected by climate change as well, but I have not heard of any Ticos, Belizeños or Panameños in any of the caravans (I am sure there have been some... ). Or do you think they are not affected by climate change? And it is just Guatemala, Honduras, Salvador, and Nicaragua?

I know MX has been affected by climate change. Case and point, Acapulco just got demolished by a hurricane that formed way too fast and didn't give Acapulco time to prepare. BTW, there was no mass exodus of residents from Acapulco to the U.S.

And what of Colombia? Perú? Brazil? Venezuela? India? Pakistan? Ghana? Russia? Iran? Do you think climate change has anything to do with them making the trip specifically to the U.S.? (those are some of the nationalities accounted for by INM).

So, what % of migrants are escaping climate change specific to 4 C.A. countries?
Do you think escaping climate change absolves migrants from attacking the Mexican national guard? Or disrupting the lives of thousands of people in MX? People who are also affected by climate change?

Republicans contend Mayorkas is guilty of “high crimes and misdemeanors” that amount to a “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law” on immigration and a “breach of the public trust.” Impeachment, they say, is “Congress’s only viable option.”

    edit:
In a video obtained by Rolling Stone, Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) declared on Tuesday that “Congress doesn’t have to do anything to secure our southern border and fix it.”

“Why would I help Joe Biden approve his dismal 33 percent [approval rating] when he can fix the border and secure it on his own? He can secure it on his own through executive order.” Nehls added while waving around a cigar outside of the Capitol. He went on to cite former President Donald Trump’s slew of executive orders addressing immigration, many of which were ultimately found to be unconstitutional.

No idea. Why do you ask? Do you think a 10 year old just tagged along a walking caravan from Nicaragua to the U.S. of his own volition after the death of his parents?

I was honestly just curious if you had seen any follow up reports on this kid and his situation. I highly doubt a 10-year old would just tag along on a cross country migrant caravan, but that doesn't tell me what did happen to him. From a whole host of possibility ranging from his parents are horrible people who didn't want the responsibility/cost of raising a kid so they just sent him off, to being the kid of a single mother who didn't have a job and couldn't afford to feed him, to being orphaned and on the street with nobody who was responsible for him and was recruited by gang as a useful tool to get adults across the border. I have no idea what his situation was.

These 3 children, do you think they are old enough to even know of the caravans and their purpose? Or is it their good parents leaving them with a bunch of strangers to walk a couple thousand miles through 2-3 countries just to reach the U.S. border?

Although, many teenagers traveling alone have expressed the conditions at home, and how they are better on the streets as they are at home. I believe one of the articles I posted alludes to that.

And a quick note: I don't have articles or pictures bookmarked... I just do searches for them, and I just pick the first picture or article that's relevant from the results... some may be a couple years old, but the situation has not changed; if anything, it has gotten worse.

Again, I don't know. I know that I would never let my child go on a journey like that alone. NEVER! My kid is 17 years old and wanted to walk 6 miles through downtown San Antonio last week after school to go to a meeting for a group he's in. I wanted him to take an Uber, but he insisted he would walk, so I made him text me when he left the school and when he got to where he was walking too because I felt uneasy about it. So I don't believe that is something any "good parent" would do. But I say that from a position where I have never faced starvation, I have never lived in a truly violent situation or neighborhood, I had both my parents growing up, etc. Basically a place of privilegie that I would venture to say none of these people making that journey have grown up in. So what I would or wouldn't do and what they would do out of desperation are likely two very different things.

The Senate should file this under "Dead on Arrival" if it ever passes the full House the same way the House has already said it would do for the immigration bill.

Does sounding like a lunatic (your words) make it okay to sexually assault her in your eyes?

Why do you defend a person found to have sexually assaulted women?
You support Biden. Tara Reade. Glass houses and all.

I know bills can have the opposite name of what it really does so I looked up the bill.

This bill makes driving while intoxicated or impaired a ground for (1) barring a non-U.S. national (alien under federal law) from admission into the United States, or (2) deporting the individual.

The bar to admission shall apply to an individual who has been convicted of the offense or has admitted to having committed the acts which constitute the elements of the offense. As a ground for deportability, the individual must have been convicted of the offense.

The people who claim there's nothing that can be done to slow down the people coming in except passing a new law are wrong:

You support Biden. Tara Reade. Glass houses and all.
It isn’t the same no matter how desperately you want it to be. Zero proof of what Tara said.

Where is Tara Reade now and what is she doing?

Trump was found by a jury to have sexually assaulted a woman. And the judge called it rape, because there was digital penetration. A second jury concurred. And you support him.
