Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

People that voted for Trump on this are idiots. They rewarded him for blocking a good solution, in favor of a horrible and impractical mass deportation. Some even believed the stupid idea that Haitians were eating pets.
The people who opened the border for three years without a plan aren’t the sharpest tools in the toolbox.

Now who is repeating talking points. It made zero sense to toss out a policy that was working to a degree without an effective policy to replace it. Putting the cart before the horse. His decision and she paid for it.
The “policy” were executive actions, which weren’t going to work indefinitely. Immigrants were using asylum law. That was going to be changed by the legislation. If you really cared to fix it, you would blame Trump for blocking the legislation.

Maybe you should read this before you keep on. Biden was criticized by immigration advocates for being too harsh, and by GOPers for quitting some of the more draconian Trump policies.

Once again - this is simply not true. You can have an opinion, but what you are saying is factually false. You get to have opinions, you don’t get to have your own reality.
Reality? All anyone had to do was look to see reality. If you get you facts from the Biden administration you need to check your numbers. They will revise them in a few weeks.

Again. You are welcome to your opinion. I am welcome to mine.

Once again - try reading an unbiased source. I have provided you with a BBC article comparing policies. Biden had no such thing as a “wide-open” border and you look silly claiming that. It’s simply not factual and it shows you are falling for propaganda.

I blame the folks who reversed executive decisions without a plan in place to deal with the migrants that predictably flowed across the border. They took a problem and made it multiples worse.

That is not good management. Not good policy. It’s just reckless behavior because they didn’t like the man who put the policy in place. Cutting your nose off to spite your face. It was stupid. Plain and simple.

I’m begging you to read the BBC article. You are ill-informed and showing it. It’s fine to have an opinion and I know you will never like Biden. But your opinion shouldn’t be based on political spin. And that’s what you are doing here.

The US border policy in the Biden era was not and is no where equivalent in any way to the Nazi treatment of Jews. Equating the two is the epitome of false equivalencies.

Biden threw out a border policy that had problems but was working to a degree and replaced it with nothing. In fact he and his administration all but ignored it for over 3 years and only started to pay attention to it when it became a campaign issue and their polling on this issue sucked. It was reckless and negligent. It placed strains on local and state resources across the country. He can’t and Kamala can’t explain away the lack of attention for the three years since he was sworn in to this year.

So it isnt national socialism to point out the failure of that administration to protect and defend in the one area that is clearly under their domain and control.

As we say in the south. That dawg won’t hunt.

    You didn't get it.

Trump has ran three times on illegal immigrants. It's a simple forumla. You create an outgroup to blame for all of soceity's problems. You then promise to punish, remove etc this group of people so everything will be better. The Nazi's did the same thing, but with Jews.

Jews didn't cause German's issues in the 1930's, and illegal immigrants didn't cause high inflation over the last 2 years.

If being “on the same level as Trump” was your standard, that isn’t saying much. And yeah it is both sidsing. Trump is not the best the GOP has to offer IMO. I am an independent conservative and I have never voted for him. Kamala was a poor candidate in 2020 and she didn’t improve much since then. I highly doubt she was the first choice of many in your party and I highly doubt we will see here run for President again. But the proof is in the election.

So you don’t have to agree with me. All I’m saying is that the GOP needs to produce better choices IMO and the Dems need to do the same.

You still can't articulate how Kamala was a poor candidate, especially when compared with Trump. Tell me, Joe. What made Kamala a "poor candidate" and what made Trump "not the best the GOP has to offer"?

J Ann Selzer, the celebrated Iowa election pollster, announced on Sunday that she is moving on “to other ventures and opportunities”, two weeks after her survey in the state wrongly predicted a strong shift to Kamala Harris in the days before the election.

That poll, which projected a 47% to 44% lead for the vice-president over Donald Trump on the back of older women breaking for Democrats over the issue of reproductive rights, came three days before the national vote, giving Democrats false hope that Harris could win the White House decisively. When the votes were counted, Selzer was off by 16 points as the former president won the state decisively.

Selzer, known as the “queen of polling”, shot to fame in 2008 when she predicted that a virtually unknown senator, Barack Obama, would beat frontrunner Hillary Clinton in the Iowa caucuses.

She told MSNBC before the vote that Harris was leading in early voting in Iowa “because of her strength with women generally, even stronger with women aged 65 and older. Her margin is more than 2-to-1 – and this is an age group that shows up to vote, or votes early, in disproportionately large numbers.”

Trump disputed the poll in a post on his Truth Social network at the time.

“In fact, it’s not even close! All polls, except for one heavily skewed toward the Democrats by a Trump hater who called it totally wrong the last time, have me up, BY A LOT.”

According to unofficial results, Trump ultimately won Iowa by 13 points, 56% to 43%.

In a column published by the Des Moines Register on Sunday, Selzer wrote that public opinion polling had been her “life’s work” and had made a decision to step back from it a year ago.……

Male vs Female. yes we are that ignorant

I highly doubt she was the first choice of many in your party
And I highly doubt that if the democrats had put up Gavin Newsome, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, AOC, Michelle Obama, or frankly anyone else, that you wouldn’t still be saying “I wish the democrats would put up a better candidate so I didn’t have to hold my nose and pull the lever for Trump! This is the democrats’ fault!”

Take some forking responsibility for your actions, like a good conservative.

Since you've seem to have forgotten much of the physiology of sex differentiations, perhaps refresh your knowledge on the role of hormones (androgen and estrogen) on sex differentiations before making these claims? You should first and foremost remember that essentially the female and male bodies are the same, and that the mentioned hormones directly influence our sex organs development. As many have discussed here, we have androgen insensitivity syndrome, for example. Because the receptors lack response to androgen, the sex organs would default to developing female parts. Further, testosterone plays a part in muscle mass, and if the cells don't respond, where does the muscle mass be influenced?

Now with this very reductive knowledge, what advantage did this olympian have?

I get that this issue of sports participation is rather complicated. I know serena williams would kick the snot out of me in tennis. I also know that testosterone level varies greatly even among males. So how do you determine who gets to participate or not if you lack the foundational understanding of human physiology? Serena Williams would far surpass me in muscle mass, fyi.

You should put even more blame on the person that blocked the solution.
