I know what to tell him. There’s a HUGE, GLARING difference between a roast, where the person being roasted is there and up for the gig, and has a chance to speak, and denigrating people for their identity, religion, race, etc. during a political rally.

Exactly this. To add, roast recipients are also people at the top of their profession or notable/notorious in some way. It's meant to take the piss out of people, take the wind out of their sails. Hinchcliffe is just a racist dickbag who found his perfect audience.

I agree, but still, Joe doesn't need to give them something else to potentially report on. It's basically not needed. They're in great shape to win the election. No need to get dirty when you don't have to.

Is that true with strong people who aren’t necessarily in his orbit? I admit I don’t listen (tried it and couldn’t take it years ago). My impression is that he wouldn’t treat her like he treated Trump and other guests - with deference. That he would be a little bit disrespectful. Does he have serious women guests, ever? Or just female comedians and other women willing to play the bimbo role? Does he ever interview people like her?

Apologies if I am judging him unfairly. Tried to listen, and just couldn’t take the vibe years ago.
