So much this - any voter who would let a jumbled poorly worded comment from Joe Biden convince them that they should just go ahead and vote for the felon was going to vote for the felon anyway. If they say otherwise they’re not being truthful.

Joe saying he meant the rhetoric was garbage - he got a little tongue-tied. So Joe recognizes it and cleans it up, meanwhile Trump hasn’t apologized at all, only disavowed any responsibility for anything that happened at his own freaking rally.

Joe screwed up. He said the only garbage are his supporters. That clean-up is unconvincing. Harris will have to denounce it immediately. I agree, but still, Joe doesn't need to give them something else to potentially report on. It's basically not needed. They're in great shape to win the election. No need to get dirty when you don't have to.

When you've got a solid lead, play your game, not the opponent's.

We’re even having this discussion because so much has gone into treating the MAGA cult with far more legitimacy than they ever deserved.

It’s always been the case with Joe that he occasionally phrases remarks in unfortunate ways. Fine, he should have taken more care.

He’s still not wrong about this and I’m very tired of the misplaced indignation at this point.

It’s a problem with our society that so many people lurch from one moment to the next rather than maintaining a focus on the totality of events. Joe has proven himself a vastly better person than Trump and those who would follow Trump into the depths of Hell. This all reminds me too much of the pearl clutching about Kamala calling Trump a fascist when, 1) he is and 2) he’s called her that and more repeatedly.

That comment may turnoff some undecideds that were appalled by the Puerto Rico comment. If she doesn’t apologize, she will lose the advantage she gained by that insult of Puerto Ricans. The comment is worse coming from the president than from a comedian.
