Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

You got it. And NC wasn't the only split ticket state. In multiple states the local/state Democrat candidates outperformed Harris' numbers, some by a significant margin.

Yup, this was the return of the split ticket in many regions despite Brown losing in Ohio.

It's the same logic that caused the media to completely flip out when Biden made the slightest gaffe but that same media ignored way, way worse when Trump did so......

You aren't convincing anyone that Michelle Obama would have done any better.....in my state (NC) most of the important local election were won by Dems, but Trump won the state rather easily, explain that one?

Your lame attempt at gaslighting is noted.....

I'm not pulling this out of my butt... It's has long been polled and represented...

Most registered voters have unfavorable opinions of Biden or Trump. Again, only Michelle Obama receives majority favorability among registered voters. Other potential candidates, aside from Vice President Kamala Harris, have lower favorability ratings but also lower name recognition.

Forty-two percent of registered voters say they have a favorable opinion of Trump, and 38% say the same about Biden. About three in five say they have unfavorable opinions of Trump (56%) or Biden (60%).

Comparatively, more registered voters, 55%, say they have a favorable opinion of Michelle Obama. Kamala Harris’ favorability generally falls in line with Trump and Biden, as 40% of registered voters say they have a favorable opinion of her.

In any case... I am done talking about Trump and Harris... That debate is over. It's been decided by the voters... I want much better options going forward and I don't care what letter is next to their name on the ballot in the next election... Nor should any of you.

The question is no longer who was worse... It's irrelevant now...

The question is - how do we do better next time and avoid all of this again? And the only way to do that is to look in the mirror - accept what went wrong - and correct it... Not double down on what got us here. The gaslighting is telling me what happened - didn't happen because of 2 bad choices again, and giving me bunk reasons why it doesn't have to be that way.

FWIW - I am posing this to everyone I know that never wanted this man near the Oval office again... no matter their party affiliation... you should all do the same.

No, because a lot of them aren't dumb enough to say the quiet part out loud and in an interview no less. The comments are more a cover for what they really feel. Trust me, I know this demographic well. Two of my boys are part of this group and I talk with their friends often enough.
OK. Thanks for the productive exchange of thoughts.

No one was arguing or even remotely suggesting that Trump is / was not a severely flawed candidate - That's not in dispute at all... The comment was about people portraying Harris as the Mother Teressa of candidates... which if you have any sort of ability to not lie to yourself... Is also laughable.
The mere fact that she has to be the Mother Teresa of candidates just to compete with an alleged serial rapist and convicted convict that led an insurrection, is very telling.

As the count stands right now Trump has 71M votes which is about the same as he had in 2020. Harris has 67M votes, 14M fewer than Biden and 1M more than '12 Obama. Those 14M did swing to trump, his character flaws and his lack of integrity was not enough to motivate them get out and vote against.

Stop pretending Michele Obama could win because she would have to be beyond reproach, impeccable, an actual Saint in order to motivate enough people to even consider her...and that is before we even get to the "what's her policies" argument.

An alleged rapist and convicted felon was elected POTUS. THIS IS WHO WE ARE.

President of the United States isn't Governor, isn't a Senator, isn't a House Rep

Plenty of people who have no problem with a female rep, Senator or Governor would have a problem with a female president

    How do we know that?

They said so. Some women have said so
People who keep quoting me are constantly stating the obvious.
I AM aware that the President is different from a Governor or a Senator. I really am 😁
This is just going round and round and round so I will say one last time.
I would be happy to vote for a Pro Life President who happens to be a female.
For me....Steve from NJ, the gender of the candidate is irrelevant.
I would've voted for Haley but Trump prevailed.

So anyway, the election is over and throughout the day I've shared my post election thoughts.
At this point I personally have no desire to post here anymore.
Eventually something will come up that just makes me feel compelled to share it with all of you, but FOR NOW, I'm done.
    Take care everyone!

Evidently they are still hell bent on mass deportation on Day 1. As one of his surrogates said the other day - if a family unit contains both citizens and undocumented people, they will just deport the entire family. So we are going to be deporting US citizens now, evidently.

    thats a talllllll ask.

Thats like you telling me to accept Carr is POO and Rattler is THE ANSWER. ( you know i cant let this go- your "Rattler is da future" post lolol ) ;)

but in all seriousness, i dont know that the MAGA side is looking for any sort of compromise nor any rescue from that clique.

So now you are dealing with around 55% of electorate ( Dems and Ind ) and wanting to coalesce that contingent that has some pretty diametrically opposed ideas on America. Im perfectly capable of looking in the mirror - its why im a registered Independent.

There is so much to unpack from this election. So many variables that led us to this point. I dont know that simply addressing 1 or 2 of them accomplishes much of anything based on the division we currently see on social media.

Unless that course of action is to limit social media, which, imo, will never happen. Ever.

So whatever the conclusions are, they have to start by understanding that you have to work this out WITH social media in mind, since that is a MASSIVE mode of information for so many young people today.

I can't wait to see interviews from farmers, and home contractors who voted for Trump complaining about this policy.

Another post of advice for the coming months:

“I'm telling ya'll right now, here are some things you're going to need to do to protect yourself since everyone can't move to CA & NY

Look at the stock market. The big tech names are loving today because they now know they have no leash

So, if you need to buy a phone, a car, or anything substantial, do it now.

Go get your check ups. Make sure you have all your vaccines up to date.

If you own stocks, the big stocks TSLA (fork him), APPL, META GOOG, AMZN & stuff like that will be fine because they now can charge us whatever they want after Jan 20th

The Banks are going to raise interest rates on everything from Credit cards to home mortgages. Their stocks will go up. Pay off as much of your debts as possible.

Stocks like LLY, ABT, NVO, these companies will now go down because they develop vaccines & drugs for people

If you have daughters in red states in college, get their arses out of there now!

You now have to protect your families any way you can.”

Oh, and I forgot he thinks he can run the Federal Reserve better than anyone else. 🤦‍♀️

Trump won by energizing his base.

As an experiment I would love to see a Democrat run a similar policy.

Unapologeticly M4A, huge taxes on rich, free childcare, and college.

None of this dancing with Liz Cheney.

That is exactly what they need to do.

No more running away from Socialism and Communism attacks. Embrace the labels. Dress up like Lenin and Che Guevara.

That is the kids of stupid shirt that it takes to win an election when the people voting are ignorant children.

    He’s not wrong.

"If you didn't make me so mad I wouldn't have to hit you"

"If I didn't hate your elitism so much, I wouldn't have to vote for a racist, rapist, greedy, lying, selfish, amoral, narcissistic, tax cheating, marriage cheating convicted felon"

    "So, it's your fault really"

Get out of here with that

Is there fault to go around? Yes, but it's not even 50-50

Did the Dems not see this coming after how they did Hernie Sanders in 2016, and lost all of his supporters (and the election) that year? The party played themselves by letting big money elites make the decisions for a party that prides itself on its grassroots efforts.

We've been talking people need better education for 40 years, yet here we are.

The thing is we truly don't want all to be smart enough to get this.

The blue collar worker should have never votes against an administration that stood with them in strikes. Yet they did.

Women should have never voted against someone responsible in taking their rights.

    The
The only way a woman gets elected is if both candidates are women. Her credentials didn't matter, and the same was true for Hillary. If the Democrats want to win, they need a man to lead the ticket or a woman wins the Republican primary. It sucks, but that's where our country is.
Well if clyburn didn't play king maker with Joe last time anyone might have won the nomination last time to be honest.

When you consider clyburn from a state that has not voted dem since Carter he shouldn't have played king maker in the first place. If you are a king maker you should at least be able to handle your state as a king maker.

The problem is a woman should be able to win. Honestly anyone should have been able to win. I can't fathom voting for a human I couldn't trust to watch a kid or dog set for crying out loud.

Well then, keep losing elections because you can't figure out why people aren't voting for you. Pointing fingers isn't gonna change a damn thing.

The DNC could have run a ticket of Jesus and the Virgin Mary and the GOP would rail against them for being brown-skinned socialists. The problem is the GOP and what they have done to their voter base. That's the sad truth.
