Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Even it's a blowout you have the House, and Senate to also consider. Does Tester, and Allred win to give us a the senate as well?
Yes. We are loosing WV. So we have to pick up one seat and keep all the others. Osborne, Allred are possible pick ups.

Well between you and I, the !@#@!#$#$ hotel rooms in DC that weekend are $800/night- and she cant stay with BF ( SELU wont allow, he already looked into lol ).

So if Harris carries LA this will be the most expensive election ever for me. lolol.
Put up a go fund me. If Harris carries LA I will throw in a few bucks, lol.

The House will go to whichever party carries the Presidency - almost every model I've seen has the two heavily, heavily correlated.

The Senate will probably go R. Democrats will have to win 1 out of these 3 (assuming Sherrod Brown is re-elected, which isn't a given)... Montana, Texas or Nebraska. That isn't very likely.

While Russian disinformation and election denialism are seeding mistrust in the American electoral process, some far-right extremists are already heralding this divisive election season as an unbridled victory for their cause.

To them, who wins or loses is less important than the effect: with already two assassination attempts on Donald Trump and both mainstream parties more at rhetorical war than ever before, they see signs of hope the US government is beginning to lose control of the country.

For example, one popular Telegram account on the fringes of the far right gleefully asked followers in a survey what they think the outcome of the election could be.

“Trump wins, civil war kicks off” was among the options, followed by “Kamala ‘wins,’ civil war kicks off”.

And the threat of armed conflict in the US seemed to be welcomed among respondents.

“I say accelerate, I just can’t keep living in this degenerate hellhole indefinitely,” said a neo-Nazi user inside the Telegram chat from the same channel, reviewed by the Guardian. “I just want something to happen so a bunch of us can die trying, at least.”

Another channel on Telegram in the same neo-Nazi ecosystem maligned the left and rightwing propaganda surrounding the election. Instead, the account said voting didn’t matter – an end to society was best for their movement.

“You’re being deceived, get back in the bunker,” said the Telegram post. “Collapse is how we win.”……

im holding on to Allred beating Cruz. I dont know what Texans see in Cruz other than R. He is almost worthless for them. Refuses to be bipartisan.

NYT reporting that canvases are having challenges with black male voters not wanting to vote for a woman in northern Milwaukee. Hopefully this is a small number of voters and white women turnout makes up for any potential losses.

Tester will win Montana. And Brown is ahead in his race as well.

Russians are also sending bomb threats to voting locations.

I think the canvases are targeting people who haven't voted yet. Hopefully, the people they can't convince to vote for a woman won't go vote at all. That's better than them going to vote for Trump.

but if they voted in 2020 for Biden, it could be a problem where she would have to mitigate that loss in a gain somewhere else.

just makes the margins that much tighter. Ugh.

I think Harris will get a comfortable net gain from women voters.

@RobF this is how stupid many Americans are

Chris Hood, the founder of the thuggish neo-Nazi group NSC-131, has endorsed the MAGA candidate for president, calling on fellow fascists in the swing states "to vote for Donald Trump."

In a long statement on Telegram, Hood described Trump as providing a small step forward to his goal of "ultimate victory," and insisted that casting a ballot for Trump provides a no-regrets way for race separatists to act - "even if it means just one less Somalian in Maine, one less Haitian in Ohio, and one more foot of wall built." He added, "It costs you nothing."

The embrace by the Trump movement by a literal neo-Nazi - who was previously a member of the Proud Boys, Patriot Front, and another hate group called The Base - offers evidence that Trump's late, ugly, attempts to expand his appeal to the fetid fringe of the American right could have met with some success. The Trump campaign did not respond to Rolling Stone's request for comment.

Based in New England, NSC-131 is infamous for dressing in black and conducting intimidating and sometimes violent flash-mobs. NSC-131 has often attempted to mainstream its hate by riding MAGA coattails - targeting the same kinds of people in person that Trump blasts, rhetorically, in his stump speeches - whether that means shouting down Drag Queen Story hours at public libraries, or harassing migrant workers housed at Boston-area hotels.

Hood writes that the neo-Nazis' long-term goals are not achievable quickly. "In the meantime though, It is our responsibility to think clearly and do whatever we can to preserve and improve what we can in these times," he writes. "Because of this, I am advocating for all Nationalists in New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maine, Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nevada, North Carolina, and Michigan to vote for Donald Trump."..........
