Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Okay - so confirmation that the Trump campaign is hurting for money. The top numbers in the first tweet are not apples to apples because the Harris total is multiple days. The second tweet is apples to apples and it shows over 500k for Harris to 19k for Trump!

Couple that with all his unpaid bills and he's well over 1M in the red.

Well I guess I'll stay up for Dixville Notch vote. Lol

6 votes. Let's see how it goes.

I guess they are going to start demanding that Harris has to apologize for Biden...again!

Biden is all out of 🤬's to give!

Lol, they gonna dress like this?

Three votes a piece. CONSPIRACY!!! :biglol:
So I’m reading that all 6 are registered Rs and all 6 voted for Haley in the primary. That’s a good get for Harris if so.

Also reading these are different people living there than the 6 who voted for Biden in 2020.

Edit: they are 4 registered Rs and 2 registered Independents.

I wake up this morning in a somber mood. I think the country will make one of the gravest mistakes of its almost 250 year history today. Just a gut feeling. Hope I'm wrong.

More than one political pundit referenced the outcome today as a moral temperature of the country. Will folks vote for their self interests or the greater good? That decision will affect the future of our country. This is the most consequential election in my lifetime....maybe of all time.

More seniors that lean Dem have increased their vote by 35% from 2020 in GA.

Hope that's indicative of a national trend.
I was born "Gen X." Seniors were born in "baby boomers." I don't want to hear any more shirt about how the "baby boomer" generation is terrible or about how any "generation" is any stereotypical way. The generation stuff is a bunch of prejudicial, aged based bigoted bullshirt.

If people vote for their self-interests, a comfortable majority will vote for Harris. If people vote for the greater good, a comfortable majority will vote for Harris.

Keep Kamala and carry on a la

Donald Trump said that he’d let Robert F Kennedy Jr “do what he wants” with women’s healthcare if he returns to the White House.

Despite reluctance to announce an official cabinet role for RFK Jr, the former president has continued to promise his one-time third-party presidential rival free rein over health, food and medicines during his potential second administration.

At his penultimate rally of his presidential campaign in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Trump doubled down that RFK Jr – whom he colloquially calls “Bobby” – can almost do whatever he wants with one area he’s particularly passionate about: women’s health and wellbeing.

“Bobby’s gonna pretty much do what he wants. I want him to do something important for our country. It makes people healthier. We have obesity, we have every problem you can have. Bobby feels very strongly about it,” Trump said to cheers from the crowd……..

CNN reported last night/this morning they're 4 registered Rs and 2 undeclareds. They actually interviewed a few of them after the vote was counted, but I had the TV muted. I don't know if they revealed how they voted in those interviews.

from conservative mega church pastor
==========================

It is a commonly held belief in many circles that evangelical Christians — to say nothing of evangelical pastors like me — should vote Republican. The GOP, the thinking goes, is the party most closely aligned to our morals, our values and our commitment to biblical principles. I held this belief for the better part of 40 years. I saw Democrats endorsing, encouraging and elevating gay rights agendas and same-sex marriage and advocating and advancing abortion rights. President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, was impeached for perjury following an adulterous affair he had while in office. None of the above aligned with my Christian values.

I supported Texas’ constitutional ban on same-sex marriage that passed in 2005. I joined Gov. Rick Perry on a tour of the state while preaching the message “Are Gay Rights and Civil Rights Parallel?” My answer is they aren’t. As it relates to abortion, Republicans have always been strong pro-life advocates. It was one of the pillars that the GOP included in its official party platform. That’s why voting for Republicans made sense to me.

So why, then, am I, the senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in Arlington, Texas, for 41 years, voting for the Democrat, Vice President Kamala Harris, for president? As I wrote Wednesday on X, I’m voting for character and competence and for the candidate who “has the capacity and bandwidth to demonstrate respect and high regard” for everybody made in the image of God. Republican Donald Trump doesn’t have Harris’ character, her competence or her capacity.

To be clear, my opinions on the issues mentioned above haven’t wavered. I still believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman and feel just as passionately about protecting life in the womb as I ever have. Democrats haven’t changed their stance on those two issues, either. But Republicans have changed. I don’t even recognize the Republican Party anymore. This year, for example, the GOP’s platform abandoned its long-standing call for a national abortion ban and removed the language that says marriage is “between one man and one woman, and is the foundation for a free society.”

The party I knew and loved would have never chosen as its nominee the adulterous, childish, habitually lying and criminally convicted Donald Trump. Evangelical leaders rightly called Clinton out for his sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky and then his lying about it. It’s astonishing to see these same leaders ignore Trump’s many sex scandals and ignore that he was found liable in court of sexually abusing a woman.

It’s sickening to see people who say they read and believe the same Bible I do not only refuse to denounce Trump but endorse his candidacy............

Full Text:

I’m voting for character, as in someone who would not instigate, finance, participate in, or even attend, a gathering such as the Jan 6 insurrection, against the USA, led & financed by Donald J. Trump.I’m voting for competence, as in someone who would gladly accept credible information from a previous administration & use it effectively, as opposed to voting for someone due to a lack of governmental experience, would not accept a manual given to him from his predecessor, that gave him a blueprint based on tons of existing knowledge and experience acquired from the Obama administration, addressing how to successfully manage & thwart a pandemic.

Trump’s gross mismanagement of the pandemic demonstrated colossal incompetence based on naivety, inexperience in government, and a disrespect & disregard for Obama, based on Obama’s father’s birth country.I’m voting for capacity, as in someone who has the capacity and bandwidth to demonstrate respect and high regard for all image bearers, and their ancestry, as opposed to voting for someone who accepts, defends, and contributes to denigrating Africa-“s’hole country”, Puerto Rico-“trash”, and somehow finds “good people” among those marching with tiki torches shouting, “no Jew is going to take our place.”

Kamala Harris has the capacity to truly live out & demonstrate respect for all citizens of America, as “one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.” Trump does not have the capacity to do that being raised by a man who was arrested at a Klan rally, and was sued by the federal government for practicing housing discrimination based on color, and falsely accusing 5 Black men of rape, who were all exonerated by DNA evidence, and a confession by the real violator.

Trump does not have the capacity to judge these matters in an unbiased manner. He asked that a Mexican judge be recused from judging a civil trial he faced solely on the basis that the Mexican judge was…Mexican. That’s textbook racism, that George W. Bush was willing to call it out for what it was-“racism”. You vote as you please. I’m voting for Kamala Harris who has the character, competence, capacity and experience to preside over our great nation, and capable of successfully & effectively addressing and managing whatever we might face as a nation, & unite us, not further divide us; while respecting all of us, not just some of us. I’m voting Kamala….Harris, that is, for all of the above reasons and more.

On the one hand, a vote for Harris. Woohoo!

On the other hand, it's because the sexist, bigoted oppressive scumbag is just a little too sketchy and a little too stupid for this guy. Oh, and racism is bad but sexism is A-OK.

I hope this guy and the others like him go back under their rocks when this election's over.

So we're here on Election Day.

Over the past week, I have been feeling a growing sense of confidence that Harris is going to win. Some of this is based on some data analysis I have seen, but a lot of it is based on my firm conviction that enough Americans see Donald Trump as the malignant force that he is that he will simply not have enough votes.

Today, though, now that it is about to happen, I'm much more anxious - even feeling a sense of dread. I do think the biopsy analogy is really apt.
