Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Generation Z has started a new trend leading up to the 2024 US presidential election – “canceling out” their fathers’ votes.

Just days away from Election Day, many women have on TikTok have hinted that they’re voting for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, while their parents are voting for Republican nominee Donald Trump. As part of the trend, each video shows social media users with a piece of paper in hand as they leave their houses to go vote.

In one video posted earlier this month, Arizona-based resident Jeanne could be seen walking around her house. She had her ballot in her hand and did a little dance in her living room, with the video set to the song “We Both Reached For The Gun” from the hit musical, Chicago.

“On my way to cancel out my father’s vote for [the former guy],” she wrote in the text over the video, referring to former president Trump. The text also included a blue circle to represent the Democratic party.

Another woman named Isabella, who’s also based in Arizona, shared a video about supporting Harris while her partner was voting for Trump. The video began with the TikTok user dancing for the camera, before heading into her car. She then kicked her leg and arm out – with her apparent ballot in hand – while sitting in the driver’s seat before closing the door. The video was set to “Level Up” by Ciara.

“POV, [on my way] to cancel out my Trump-loving husband’s vote in a swing state,” she said, along with a blue heart emoji and an American flag emoji.

Meanwhile, some people on social media have made pop culture references when taking part in the trend. One video featured a clip of Taylor Swift wearing sunglasses and holding her cat, which was originally taken during Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Miami, Florida, last October.

In the edited TikTok clip, Swift was instead shown walking into a room of voting stands, before she takes her sunglasses off and looks around. “Me on my way to cancel my dad’s vote,” the text over the video read, along with three blue heart emojis in the caption.

However, some people have used the trend to share a different perspective. In a clip posted by a woman named Jess, she could be seen standing outside of her house and smiling, though she highlighted a deeper meaning behind “canceling out” someone’s vote.

“Going to cancel out my dad’s vote and going to cancel out my husband’s vote feels especially dark when you realize they’re also trying to cancel out our vote,” she wrote. “These men who raised us, took vows with us, men who pride themselves on being ‘protectors,’ are voting to silence our voice, diminish our rights, and counter our choices. We’re voting for ourselves and they’re voting against us.”

“And if [Trump] wins I’ll never forgive them (not my dad and husband tho, but yours lol. And most of my uncles),” she added in the caption...............

You already know Donald Trump. He is unfit to lead. Watch him. Listen to those who know him best. He tried to subvert an election and remains a threat to democracy. He helped overturn Roe, with terrible consequences. Mr. Trump’s corruption and lawlessness go beyond elections: It’s his whole ethos. He lies without limit. If he’s re-elected, the G.O.P. won’t restrain him. Mr. Trump will use the government to go after opponents. He will pursue a cruel policy of mass deportations. He will wreak havoc on the poor, the middle class and employers. Another Trump term will damage the climate, shatter alliances and strengthen autocrats. Americans should demand better. Vote.

"Judas Priest," I don't know him, but I sure do know a whole bunch of Priests, maybe Judas is a distant relative of theirs.

They're a local band, a band of native people who live pretty close to my house. Their reservation is called the Sarah Priest Land Allotment. They have 80 acres along the creek bottom down in the gorge. It started out as 160 acres, I don't know what happened to the other 80 acres. I'm sure it's still there, but who owns it now is the question.

Here's a photo of their matriarch Sarah. She was the daughter of Chief Tenaya who had been the band leader during the gold rush. I drive past the cemetery where she's buried most days.

Anytime i see some of her descendant kinfolk walking along the road I stop and give them a ride to or from town. Otherwise we smile and wave as we go by, and they smile and wave back. A band of friendlier folk than them are hard to find.

My boss when I lived in Toledo used to say “Judas Priest” whenever something goofy happened at one of our stores.

MAGA influencer Ryan Fournier-

Just one issue.....

I caught that floating around last night, yeah. He ended up deleting the first post while still claiming it was real. lmao

it begins (actually began long ago)
===============
Brandon Matlack, a coordinator for a group boosting former president Donald Trump’s election effort, was camped outside an election office in Pennsylvania’s Northampton County when he posted a video Tuesday on the social network X asking his 3,000 followers for help identifying a “very suspect” man he’d seen just drop off “an insane amount of ballots.”

Within minutes, his video had gone viral — cross-posted to Facebook groups, Rumble videos, Telegram channels and pro-Trump forums as visual evidence of election fraud. On X, the video raced to the top of a special “Election Integrity” feed newly promoted by its billionaire owner Elon Musk, where posts sharing the man’s face and license plate were viewed millions of times.

“A nervous operative of the Dem. cheating machine,” one X user wrote. On the social network Gab, another wrote, “Shoot him dead and figure it out later. Remember 2020 !!!”

But the man Matlack had recorded was actually a longtime U.S. Postal Service worker making a routine delivery, according to Lamont McClure, the county executive. The video ricocheting across X as proof of a conspiracy actually just showed the man doing his job.

The video’s near-instant virality was a victory for the organized network of conservative activists and conspiracy theorists who have spent years building online followings by promoting their belief in corrupt elections. On platforms controlled by Musk — and Trump, the majority owner of the online platform Truth Social — they have worked to stand up a preemptive infrastructure stronger than the “Stop the Steal” movement that grew after Trump’s 2020 loss.

The online movement that won national attention four years ago was driven by a small, disordered and slapdash group of right-wing fringe accounts echoing Trump’s claims of election fraud. Today, it is an army — organized, widely promoted and shored up by an ideology that has permeated the Republican base.

“People are much more concerned, they’re much more vigilant and back then they were not,” Matlack said in an interview with The Washington Post. “I’m very thankful for Elon Musk and the freedom of speech offered by X so … we can see what’s really going on.”

Election deniers have in recent years developed a rapid-response system for amplifying rumors or exaggerating the impact of real voting irregularities, creating the impression of widespread voting fraud that is not backed up by the facts.

And by contesting the results of the election even before any votes for Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris have been tallied, they have set the stage for a national resistance plan that online observers worry could echo the run-up to Jan. 6, 2021, when Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in support of his baseless claims that the election was rigged.................

Four years after ‘Stop the Steal,’ an organized army emerges online

==========================

It is a commonly held belief in many circles that evangelical Christians — to say nothing of evangelical pastors like me — should vote Republican. The GOP, the thinking goes, is the party most closely aligned to our morals, our values and our commitment to biblical principles. I held this belief for the better part of 40 years. I saw Democrats endorsing, encouraging and elevating gay rights agendas and same-sex marriage and advocating and advancing abortion rights. President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, was impeached for perjury following an adulterous affair he had while in office. None of the above aligned with my Christian values.

I supported Texas’ constitutional ban on same-sex marriage that passed in 2005. I joined Gov. Rick Perry on a tour of the state while preaching the message “Are Gay Rights and Civil Rights Parallel?” My answer is they aren’t. As it relates to abortion, Republicans have always been strong pro-life advocates. It was one of the pillars that the GOP included in its official party platform. That’s why voting for Republicans made sense to me.

So why, then, am I, the senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in Arlington, Texas, for 41 years, voting for the Democrat, Vice President Kamala Harris, for president? As I wrote Wednesday on X, I’m voting for character and competence and for the candidate who “has the capacity and bandwidth to demonstrate respect and high regard” for everybody made in the image of God. Republican Donald Trump doesn’t have Harris’ character, her competence or her capacity.

To be clear, my opinions on the issues mentioned above haven’t wavered. I still believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman and feel just as passionately about protecting life in the womb as I ever have. Democrats haven’t changed their stance on those two issues, either. But Republicans have changed. I don’t even recognize the Republican Party anymore. This year, for example, the GOP’s platform abandoned its long-standing call for a national abortion ban and removed the language that says marriage is “between one man and one woman, and is the foundation for a free society.”

The party I knew and loved would have never chosen as its nominee the adulterous, childish, habitually lying and criminally convicted Donald Trump. Evangelical leaders rightly called Clinton out for his sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky and then his lying about it. It’s astonishing to see these same leaders ignore Trump’s many sex scandals and ignore that he was found liable in court of sexually abusing a woman.

It’s sickening to see people who say they read and believe the same Bible I do not only refuse to denounce Trump but endorse his candidacy............

I’m voting for character, as in someone who would not instigate, finance, participate in, or even attend, a gathering such as the Jan 6 insurrection, against the USA, led & financed by Donald J. Trump.I’m voting for competence, as in someone who would gladly accept credible information from a previous administration & use it effectively, as opposed to voting for someone due to a lack of governmental experience, would not accept a manual given to him from his predecessor, that gave him a blueprint based on tons of existing knowledge and experience acquired from the Obama administration, addressing how to successfully manage & thwart a pandemic.

Trump’s gross mismanagement of the pandemic demonstrated colossal incompetence based on naivety, inexperience in government, and a disrespect & disregard for Obama, based on Obama’s father’s birth country.I’m voting for capacity, as in someone who has the capacity and bandwidth to demonstrate respect and high regard for all image bearers, and their ancestry, as opposed to voting for someone who accepts, defends, and contributes to denigrating Africa-“s’hole country”, Puerto Rico-“trash”, and somehow finds “good people” among those marching with tiki torches shouting, “no Jew is going to take our place.”

Kamala Harris has the capacity to truly live out & demonstrate respect for all citizens of America, as “one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.” Trump does not have the capacity to do that being raised by a man who was arrested at a Klan rally, and was sued by the federal government for practicing housing discrimination based on color, and falsely accusing 5 Black men of rape, who were all exonerated by DNA evidence, and a confession by the real violator.

Trump does not have the capacity to judge these matters in an unbiased manner. He asked that a Mexican judge be recused from judging a civil trial he faced solely on the basis that the Mexican judge was…Mexican. That’s textbook racism, that George W. Bush was willing to call it out for what it was-“racism”. You vote as you please. I’m voting for Kamala Harris who has the character, competence, capacity and experience to preside over our great nation, and capable of successfully & effectively addressing and managing whatever we might face as a nation, & unite us, not further divide us; while respecting all of us, not just some of us. I’m voting Kamala….Harris, that is, for all of the above reasons and more.

Musk PAC tells Philadelphia judge the $1-million sweepstakes winners are not chosen by chance
sorry if posted already, i was quite a few pages behind....
But this is par for the course for them, are they saying thus to avoid criminal charges? because now i feel like they are opening themeselves up for false advertising suits.. i guess those will be eaiser to fight and payy off...

lawyer for Elon Musk's political action committee told a judge in Philadelphia on Monday that so-called winners of his $1-million-a-day voter sweepstakes in swing states are not chosen by chance but are instead chosen to be paid “spokespeople” for the group.

GOP lawyer Chris Gober also said that the recipients Monday and Tuesday will come from Arizona and Michigan, respectively, and therefore will not affect the Pennsylvania election. He said the recipients are chosen based on their personal stories and sign a contract with the political organization, America PAC.

hes most probably a postal worker who will now get death threats. he may even be a Republican who will still vote for Trump even though he knows Trump will blame him for 'election fraud'...
he probably feared for his life, thats why he didn't talk to you....smh...

As the GOP continues to weather widespread fallout after a comedian at Donald Trump’s recent Madison Square Garden rally called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage,” the party’s Washington State operation is floating the mendacious claim that Democrats are angling to “eliminate the Spanish language.”

The Spanish-language message was texted to voters on Friday, from a sender calling himself “Matteo from the Washington State Republican Party.” It took aim at a trio of Democraticcandidates who are themselves of Latinodescent.

“They are deranged to the point of wanting to eliminate the Spanish language,” the text read, arguing, disingenously, that Maria Beltran, Ana Ruiz Kennedy and Chelsea Dimas “reject God’s design of two genders and want to confuse your children about whether they are boys or girls.”

Beltran, who is running for the state Senate, Ruiz Kennedy, who is running for the state House of Representatives, and Dimas, who is also running for a seat in the State House, “hate you, they hate your family, they hate God and they hate the truth,” the text insisted, further claiming, counterfactually, that the three “support chemically castrating your children in school without your knowledge or consent.”

“Don’t let them represent you!” the text concluded.…….

If it is true that these "winners" are actually paid spokespeople of their campaign, they are banking that the others that signed up for their lottery will not call foul. It's the Build That Wall scam in disguise!

The Republican mega-donors Dick and Liz Uihlein, who are the third largest donors in this year’s US presidential election, have sought information about who employees at their company Uline will be voting for in Tuesday’s ballot.

A screenshot seen by the Guardian shows how employees at the private Wisconsin paper and office products distributor were asked to take part in what was called an anonymous survey to track who the employees were voting for on 5 November.

Below a picture of a blue donkey and a red elephant, the online survey says: “We’re curious – how does Uline compare to the current national polls?”

While the button employees are meant to click says the survey is anonymous, the webpage also says that employees “may be asked to sign in”. “This is solely to verify you are a Uline employee and to ensure one submission per person. Your name is not tracked, and your answers remain anonymous.”

Public records show that Dick Uihlein has donated almost $80m to the Restoration Pac in the 2024 cycle, which supports the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, and other Republican candidates.

One employee who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retribution said the request felt like an infringement on their privacy and that people inside the company were angered by it. Another said multiple employees had privately questioned how anonymous the survey really was. There was an assumption that Democrats would not answer the survey truthfully, a source close to Uline told the Guardian.

For Uline workers, there is little doubt about who their bosses want to win in this week’s election.

The billionaire Uihleins are staunchly pro-Trump and anti-abortion and have had significant influence on local and national politics, including changes to state laws that will make it more difficult for states to pass pro-choice legislation or changes to state constitutions in the wake of the Dobbs decision that overruled national abortion protections.…….
