Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

    Projection much?

Since he believes that cognitive tests should be required, he should lead the way by providing his. He won't even provide his health information, so I assume that there is bad information in it. Has he ever released a tax return?

It’s basically theft from the taxpayers in that state/city. So sick of him getting away with everything he does that is shady and/or illegal.
If he loses the election, the comeuppance will be sweet. He has shafted so many people in his life that no one deserves it more than him.

Donald Trump is a very rich man and has been a very rich man for a long time. One of the ways in which this is exemplified is in his living at a private club that he also owns, a club that allows him to just sort of show up in the dining room at dinnertime to eat.

One natural effect of this is that Donald Trump has no obvious familiarity with otherwise familiar things, like buying food that will then serve as a meal for a family. He talks about inflation all the time because he understands that, while not a problem for him personally, increased prices are something Americans are mad at the incumbent administration about.

So, sitting down for interviews or standing at the lectern at rallies, he will dutifully bemoan how expensive everyday things that he doesn’t purchase have become.

When he was asked at an event earlier this month how he would make groceries more affordable, he acted as if the word was some exotic term of art.

“It’s such a great question in the sense that people don’t think of grocery,” he said. “You know, it sounds like not such an important word when you talk about homes and everything else, right? But more people tell me about grocery bills, where the price of bacon, the price of lettuce, the price of tomatoes, they tell me.”

At his rally in Wisconsin on Thursday, he said something similar.

“If I win, we will rapidly defeat inflation and I will make America affordable again,” he told the audience (while wearing a fluorescent vest after spending some time riding around in a garbage truck). “We’re going to make it affordable. We got to bring those costs down.”

“They call it groceries!” he continued, marveling at the word. “Bacon, lettuce, tomato. All the everything is so much higher than it ever was. And we’re going to bring that down and we’re going to do it very simply.”

He then listed the simple solution, which began with increasing oil production.

One thing you probably noticed here is that Trump’s presentation of groceries centers on some very specific (and not entirely typical) products. Bacon. Lettuce. Tomato. The sorts of food items that might come to mind when, say, most of the meals you eat are at private clubs or hotels. Or if, say, your former hotel in D.C. and club in Florida were home to restaurants called BLT Prime, which isn’t the case with most people.

Bacon and tomato are, technically, things people think of when they think of grocery, which is what they call it. But given Trump’s proclivity for making things up, it seemed useful to consider whether the prices of bacon, lettuce and tomato — or, more simply, BLT sandwiches — had actually increased substantially.

In all the million times Republicans have said they want to "Repeal and Replace" Obamacare has any of them even once said replace with what?

Other than something "awesome and much better than the ACA"
That old song and dance has been going on for decades. But fear not! Because they have 'concepts of a plan'

Other than something "awesome and much better than the ACA"
House Speaker Mike Johnson's suggestion that Republicans would implement "massive reform" to the Affordable Care Act -- known as Obamacare -- is causing a bit of a headache for the Trump campaign.

At a campaign event Monday in Pennsylvania, a battleground state in the presidential race, Johnson made that assertion.

"No Obamacare?" an attendee of the event asked Johnson.

"No Obamacare," Johnson replied. "The ACA is so deeply ingrained, we need massive reform to make this work, and we got a lot of ideas on how to do that."

Johnson did not elaborate on specifics but said Republican doctors in the House, known as the GOP Doctors Caucus, have been working on possible legislative ideas. The speaker said Republicans want to "take a blowtorch to the regulatory state" and "fix things" in the health care sector.............

Your exact words are "I think that's a myth that is about to be proven false, once and for all. I have never believed that Trump has more than at most 35% of the country, not voters, who truly support him. I believe without a doubt that it's a myth and it's always been a myth."
Not all of the people in the country are registered to vote. Polls focus on data from people registered to vote and likely to vote. Consider this:
That means around 30% of voting age Americans are not registered to vote and pollsters overlook them when doing polls. If you do the math, 50% of 70% is what? That's right 35% of all voting age adults in the United States.

As I keep telling you, my opinions and beliefs are based on verified data, not just my feelings or perceptions or what click-bait-money-chasing media tells me.

While I believe there are errors in the polls, and I think his support is overstated, it would be the largest shock in polling history if he doesn't exceed 35% considering he got about 46.9% in 2020.
As I said above, polling focuses on registered voters and likely voters. People who support Trump are highly motivated to act on their support for Trump, including registering and voting.

What would actually be shocking is if a large percentage of the non-registered adults are supporters of Trump who didn't bother to register or vote. That's just not how Trump supporters role.

The Avengers are stomping for Harris...THE FRACK'N AVENGERS!!!

They didn't even show up when the planet was invaded by Dark Elves!

    So wholesome.

I've been there, done that. During the winter I was one amoung a few veterans who took shifts to watch over the women who were protesting Bush's first gulf war as a many days long vigil at the courthouse. We were especially active during the bar closing hours around 2am.

There was more than once I got out of my truck, approached, and then suggested to some drunk cowboys that they go home.

There are several of these anecdotal and not verified stories, but I've had a "vibe" for a few years now that the overwhelming majority of active duty and veteran soldiers oppose Trump and will to fight in opposition to Trump if necessary.
    🙋‍♂️
I KNOW for a fact that I am one of MANY!
