Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Yeah when they cut 2t and the largest employer in the US (the gubament) has to fire huge percentages of their work force, how will that impact the economy.
They don’t have a flocking clue. Their base is even more clueless so they can be easily led by agitprop.

Don't forget the legal immigrants, naturalized citizens and native citizens who will get caught up in the dragnet and the outrage, backlash and chaos that will cause

"Brown, Hispanic sounding name, accent? Papers, please"
especially if he tries to use the Alien Enenmy act to do it., then technically it wouldn't matter if the have 'papers'....

Fox News.com front page. As I predicted, they're talking about Biden, not Harris. The one headline they have talking about Harris is that she picked up a key in endorsement from a Republican. Traditional media has already moved on. On the whole this is a win for Harris. Voters going into the polls aren't going to see Biden's name on the ballot. Meanwhile, the Harris campaign is hitting Trump (her actual opponent) with everything they have.

Unfortunately, anything Biden does gets associated to Harris. Right or wrong, that is what people think. It wasn't good but it isn't the death knell to the campaign. Life would be easier without this incident occurring.

I don't believe that, people are capable of separating the two. There's a reason Biden isn't the nominee.

I haven't really seen Harris taking any flack for Biden's comments once she addressed it.

he wants to do to the country what he did to Twitter. fire so many people that it starts to fail and blame everyone else...
Actually, buy up as many assets as he can during the economic ruin. And hasten the failure of the dollar so the economy moves to bitcoin. These people are a menace to this country.

There are Japanese Americans alive right now who can tell you how that goes.

Musk has filed a motion to move the PA case against his electioneering stunt to federal court, thus delaying the hearing set for today.

That's been the GOP plan since Reagan. Break the government at every opportunity so badly that nobody thinks it can be fixed. Once the people expect nothing, you're free to do nothing, except send their tax dollars to your donors.

You may be right, but if the only way to win is by stooping to their level, then Democracy will fail. It will be a short term win, and a long term loss. It may be a loss anyway, but at least one path is more hopeful.

Hope is a mirage.

I agree that our Republic has already failed, we just can't tell because we are in the middle of it. Self-government is not a sustainable model.

We are just rearranging the chairs, hoping to keep it going until we're dead, then it's someone else's problem.

The total discretionary budget is only $1.7 trillion... only way to cut $2trillion dollars is to cut all discretionary spending (including eliminating the entire defense budget) AND cut social security, medicare and medicaid.

I think he kinda alluded to that the $2t over a span of years....but regardless, it has to start from somewhere and programs like the ones you mentioned are probably the ONLY ones that will equate to that number.

It just wont happen. Musks' "temporary hardship" comment is understated. IT would be a collapse of the system. Entirely.

to the financial/economic system, it would be akin to a 9.0 earthquake to LA.
