Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

The banner on the Newsmax pic say "sold-out" really. Is Trump really selling tickets to his rallies now? 😂
I realize I’m a broken record, but it’s so disheartening to see a Peice of work MESS like Donnie with this kind of favorability. I think it’s safe to say our country is fundamentally broken at this point in time. 😔

Got to agree. Demographic change has unhinged the minds of millions of people.

It’s the acceptance of lies either because of being STUPID, or they just don’t care what lies they're told because they are so turned on with the prospect of chaos, or the perception of white privilege ruling, and fork everyone else. Now the minorities who might go for Trump, that would be business owners who think their taxes will drop and apparantly can’t get to the idea of fascism and the associated racial negatives. Then I read some black men don’t like the idea of a women in charge. are you forking kidding me?? 😳

So the end of his Coachella rally was a real mess. The parking lot was a 30-40 minute bus ride from the venue, they had 20 buses ferrying people to the venue. Once the rally was over, most of the buses disappeared, unknown why at this point. There were only a couple or three buses trying to take people back. It was a 2 hour walk, and many couldn’t do the walk, the rally was over at 7 and at 10:30 there were still lots of folks waiting for a ride back to their cars. Of course - MAGA was blaming the city, the governor of CA, lol, and the venue. They are hatching conspiracy theories why it was a deliberate sabotage job.

Obviously, the most likely reason is rank incompetence from the Trump campaign. But they would never consider that a possibility. Oh, well. So sad. 🤭

These are tweets that a Trump supporter posted last night and then deleted. Somebody said he was asked to delete them because they made Trump look bad. Idk why he deleted.

According to Trump, the “illegals” are destroying our country, but they are somehow not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is the radical left, the “enemies from within”, who will need to be handled by the National Guard or the military if they cause any issues on Election Day. He’s just itching to do it, you can tell. I’m not sure if it has dawned on him that he has no authority over either one of them?

Bill Clinton is campaigning in southern GA. He just had to go to a McDonalds for old times sake, lol.

Incompetence is the defining trait of all things Trump.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has claimed Donald Trump’s medical records are “irrelevant” to American voters after Kamala Harris released hers in a challenge to the man now running as the oldest presidential candidate in US history.

In a fiery exchange with host Kristen Welker on NBC News’s Meet The Press on Sunday, the Republican speaker defended Trump’s reluctance to share his health informationclaiming that he doesn’t need to because his apparent prowess is “on display” every day.

Initially, Johnson tried to falsely claim that Trump had in fact shared all of his own medical records, claiming “he has, he issued the records of his physicians.”

“Kamala Harris issued her medical records as a diversion because she’s desperate, because she’s sinking in the polls,” he said……

Launching into a lengthy praise of Trump’s “strength” as a leader, Welker tried to cut him off.

“Just to be clear, he has not released all of his medical records. He released two letters,” she corrected him, before Johnson interrupted her.

“It’s unnecessary. He’s on display every minute,” he said.

Welker then confronted Johnson with the fact that he just admitted that Trump hasn’t released his medical records.

“So it’s unnecessary. You can see that he didn’t release his medical records? You don’t want to know about things like his cholesterol level, whether he’s dealing with any issue we may not know about if he’s going to become commander-in-chief?” she said.

“He also said he would release cognitive tests which he aced. Should he release that?”

Johnson once again interjected: “The American people don’t care about the cholesterol level of Donald Trump. They care about the cost of living and the fact they cannot pay for groceries because Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s policies have put them in that situation.”

He then added: “The medical records are irrelevant.”……..

PITTSBURGH — Former president Barack Obama on Thursday made a direct, impassioned plea to Black men to support Vice President Kamala Harris — a key demographic she is struggling to mobilize — admonishing them for thinking about sitting out the presidential contest as well as suggesting sexism might be at play.

During an unannounced stop at a Harris campaign field office in Pittsburgh, just hours before he was set to appear at his first campaign rally for the Democratic nominee, Obama said he wanted to “speak some truths” and address Black men specifically, making his most direct remarks about their hesitancy in supporting Harris to date.

“My understanding, based on reports I’m getting from campaigns and communities, is that we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running,” Obama said, adding that it “seems to be more pronounced with the brothers.”

Obama questioned how voters, and Black voters specifically, could be on the fence about whether to support Harris or former president Donald Trump, the Republican nominee.

“On the one hand, you have somebody who grew up like you, knows you, went to college with you, understands the struggles and pain and joy that comes from those experiences,” Obama said, ticking off a list of Harris’s policy proposals.

In Trump, he added, “you have someone who has consistently shown disregard, not just for the communities, but for you as a person ... And you are thinking about sitting out?”

The former president then spoke about what he thought might be contributing to Black men’s soft support of Harris: the discomfort of some with the idea of electing the first female president.

“And you’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses, I’ve got a problem with that,” he said. “Because part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”

Obama’s comments created a remarkable moment: The nation’s first Black man to serve as president urging others like him to rally behind potentially the first woman of color to ascend to the White House. Harris is Black and Indian American.

The “women in our lives have been getting our backs this entire time,” Obama said. “When we get in trouble and the system isn’t working for us, they’re the ones out there marching and protesting. And now, you’re thinking about sitting out or supporting somebody who has a history of denigrating you, because you think that’s a sign of strength, because that’s what being a man is? Putting women down? That’s not acceptable.”………

……..Obama’s stern words have been subject to criticism, including from former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner.

“Why are Black men being belittled in ways that no other voting group [is]?” the Democrat told host Abby Phillip on CNN’s NewsNight.
“Now, a lot of love for former President Obama, but for him to single out Black men is wrong.”

Fox News anchor Jesse Watters described Obama’s remarks as “mansplaining,” the anchor wrote on X.

Former GOP Georgia Representative Vernon Jones rebuked on X: “I don’t have anything in common with Kamala. No Thanks BO, Blacks had enough of you and @KamalaHarris.”

Conservatives on social media were also quick to seize on the comments.

“Three weeks before an election and they sent daddy out there to lecture the children. Harris is in trouble,” one X user stated.

Another added: “I can’t stand that he thinks the ‘brothers’ owe their vote to Kamala, like he needs to lecture them for not falling in line. What a condescending, arrogant man.”………

WASHINGTON (AP) — During his first term as president, Donald Trump tested the limits of how he could use the military to achieve policy goals. If given a second term, the Republican and his allies are preparing to go much further, reimagining the military as an all-powerful tool to deploy on U.S. soil.

He has pledged to recall thousands of American troops from overseas and station them at the U.S. border with Mexico. He has explored using troops for domestic policy priorities such as deportations and confronting civil unrest. He has talked of weeding out military officers who are ideologically opposed to him.

Trump’s vision amounts to a potentially dramatic shift in the role of the military in U.S. society, carrying grave implications for both the country’s place in the world and the restraints that have traditionally been placed on domestic use of the military.…….
