Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

The book was written a while ago, so I don’t think it was planned.
He’s been running away from his original stances on abortion for a while as well.

Plus - what we are seeing is a cut-quote from the book. It’s marketing. We’re not sure what the book actually says, I don’t think. I know I’m not reading it, lol.

Anyone know what the psychology behind this particular phenomenon is?

It can’t be a guilty conscience, they feel zero guilt or shame about what their doing
It's projection. Not all projection has the same motivating dynamics. In the case of Trump and Republicans it's toxic projection by toxic people. Here's a decent article on it. In a nutshell, "Projection is a defense mechanism used to avoid taking responsibility for one's actions."

It's about time that CNN starts telling the raw truth and stops using headlines that gloss over Trump's bullshirt.

Since Donald Trump first emerged on the scene of American politics in 2015, he has refused to provide a glimpse into his medical records.

If Trump, 78, succeeds in November, he will become the oldest person ever to serve as president, ousting the current record-holder, Joe Biden. When his potential second term ends, he will be 82 years old.

Despite his advanced age, Trump has refused to provide any glimpse into his records. When asked about his health in 2015, he provided a four-paragraph letter from his doctor, who claimed he would be the “healthiest person ever elected to the presidency.”

Age has already played a major role in the 2024 presidential election; concerns over Biden’s cognitive health culminated with his decision to step away from the race, clearing the path for Vice President Kamala Harris to step up to carry the Democratic banner in November.

But Biden’s decision came after his party colleagues collectively expressed their concerns over his health; there are few — if any — calls from prominent Republican leaders asking if Trump has the ability to lead as he approaches 80, and it’s unclear if those calls would deter the former president anyway.…….

It's unclear? Really? Come on, you know better than that.

Many Republicans are still struggling to admit out loud that Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election.

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton and Speaker Mike Johnson are the latest Republicans who can’t bring themselves to say that Trump lost the election.

Cotton was put under pressure by Kristen Welker on Sunday’s Meet the Press on NBC, where she gave him multiple opportunities to put the issue “to rest.”

Welker raised how JD Vance refused to say Trump lost the 2020 election during last week’s debate with Tim Walz and asked Cotton: “Can you say definitively here and now that Donald Trump did lose the 2020 election?”

“Kristen, Joe Biden was elected president in 2020,” Cotton replied. “It was an unfair election in many ways. You had states that were changing their election practices, election laws, sometimes in violation of the Constitution,” he added, before accusing television networks of working with big tech to “suppress” the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop which would expose “Biden family corruption.”

“But did Trump lose?” Welker asked again.

“Joe Biden was elected,” Cotton repeated, before explaining to her how the Electoral College works.

But the host wasn’t done.

“As you know though, it has been stated that this was one of the most secure elections in US history,” she continued. “But do you just not want to say that Trump lost? Why not just say…if Biden is president, can you just simply say ‘Trump lost’?”

“Joe Biden was elected president in 2020,” Cotton replied for a third time.

Speaker Johnson also refused to utter the statement aloud this morning. Appearing on ABC News’s This Week, he was asked whether he accepted the result of the 2020 election.

“You want us to litigate things that happened four years ago when we are talking about the future,” he said. “We are not going to talk about what happened in 2020, we are going to talk about 2024,” Johnson said.……..

The House Speaker (who is from Louisiana) refuses to call the House into session to vote on hurricane relief until after November 5th, because, that might help the Democrats.

You have a link on this?
oops link did not wokr.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, said on Sunday that he does not intend to call Congressout of recess to vote on emergency funding for federal agencies assisting in Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

Johnson told Fox News Sunday's Shannon Bream that lawmakers will be "back in session immediately after the election" to provide any funding needs for states hit hardest by the Category 4 storm that made its way through the southeastern United States late last month.

"That's 30 days from now," the Republican leader said. "The thing about these hurricanes and disasters at this magnitude is it takes a while to calculate the actual damages, and the states are going to need some time to do that."

A handful of lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have asked Congress to return to Washington, D.C., before November 5 to vote on additional aid packages for Helene victims. Florida Senator Rick Scott, a Republican, said in a statement last Monday that his state is "resilient, but the response and recovery from this storm demands the full and immediate support of government at every level to get families and businesses back to normal."

Democratic Florida Representative Jared Moskowitz has also said he would support ending recess early to pass emergency funding.

As many times that Louisiana is in the bullseye of a hurricane... forking embarrassment.
