He wants to be able to talk over her because he just can't let that woman speak freely without him being able to name call, lie or mansplain incoherently. If it devolves into mud wrestling match, he wins.

Harris is going to have to be prepared with a few catchy, deep searing one line attacks that will consume Trump and keep him off balance and agitated, but allow her to move on to making her point and responding to the question the host ask. Also, be prepared to respond with good retorts when he does happen to make salient attack.

As a viewer of this potential debate, I'd rather have Trump's mic muted because when candidates talk over each other I am quick to get annoyed and switch to watching sports. I really hope this debate happens....and I hope it is civilized so I'll be comfortable to watch it.

I think its a ploy- im certain she will debate him, mute or no mute. But putting out in the ether to see if he will bite. His team, obviously, is against removing it.

Sad to say we now have to have debates w/ muted mic because one candidate has ZERO decorum and respect for anyone or anything.


Same reason if you attend a local council meeting or library meeting, you have several in the audience who think talking out of turn, yelling over others is a sign of "strength"

That's what I get for just looking at the headline and assuming.

So that totally invalidates the point I made. Interesting strategy by Harris, I hope it works. I don't think Harris getting into the back and forth muck with Trump would be good, so she'd have to stay above that.

From the standpoint of making Trump look more like an unhinged idiot, I disagree. But from the standpoint of things being agreed to and she forced his hand on keeping the ABC debate he and Biden agreed to, I agree.
