I think it’s deceptive - a form of forgery - to materially edit what you’re attributing to someone else without notation that it has been edited.

I don’t like it and it doesn’t matter who is doing it.

Maybe I missed it but I didn’t find any comparisons between the ad headline and the article headline in that story. Nor any links to the stories. The only links I found were to Google ad transparency sites which also don’t have any links to the stories. I would like to see the actual differences.

Also - the argument would be that the top line saying it’s a sponsored post paid for by the Harris campaign is the disclosure.

I wish they wouldn’t do it that way, also, but it’s not a big scandal, IMO. It isn’t breaking any Google policies for ads, so maybe Google can fix this by tightening up their ad policies?

I also think it's worth flagging just how bad the content SFL is posting is. It's never been great, but let's look at what this is:

It's a tweet, from 'George / @BehizyTweets'. Who's that? Don't know. We'll put him down as 'some guy'.

So what's his source? It shows that under the video: it's 'From "TONY™". Who's that? Well, that's '@TONYxTWO', who describes himself as a 'God-Fearing Patriot | Family Man | America First | Banned in 2020 & Reinstated in 2023 | RT’d by TRUMP'. Right. So we'll put that down as 'some other guy'.

And the video? Well, it's anonymous. Neither our 'some guy' nor our 'some other guy' say who it is, nor does the video. She says she got an email, but not who it was from, claiming it offered a paid promotion to 'talk about the Democratic side'. There is no evidence of this email. Nor does she actually say, as some guy claims, that it was from "Kamala's campaign".

So we have an anonymous person in a video claiming, without evidence, to have received an email, without saying who it is from, being reposted by some other guy, which is then reposted again and misrepresented by some guy, and then that gets posted here, as gospel, by our guy, SFL, who apparently will not only believe literally anything that comes across his twitter feed no matter how lacking in any actual credibility or evidence it is, but will, despite at this point years of evidence to the contrary, think it's worth posting it here.

That is really, really, really, weak stuff. If this is what someone has got, someone has got nothing.

What I'm insulting is your inability to comprehend. Republicans will never see a bill like that again in your lifetime. This is a simple idea. You compromise, and get something "good".

You can't fit reality into your worldview because it goes against Papa Trump. Trump screwed you over because he needed an issue to run on.

Am I mad that a conserative border bill didn't get passed? Would I have considered this getting passed as "goinng my way"? No, to both.

I can see it considering they have a few RWNJ in state-wide positions like governor. Arizona is the more blue-trending state IMHO.

I agree that we need to see more what the Axios findings are (Axios is generally reliable IMO).

I don’t know if it’s a scandal but if they are doing it, it’s intentionally deceptive - and I hate that. Leave that to the Trump people, who clearly have no scruples. But if you want to cast yourself as a legitimate, grounded leadership choice in contrast to the malignancy that is Trump, you can’t play loose with things like authenticity.

Trump may have accepted 3 but only one has been agreed to, Harris has other obligations on the 4th and just because Trump make a deal with Fox without consulting the Democratic team, should not in anyway force Harris to cancel already planned agendas on that day. This is all a PR stunt to get Harris on Fox where Trump will be sure that Fox (non) news will do all they can to help him like they have done previously by leaking the questions that they planned to ask both him and Clinton but only to HIS campaign.

Even if it is, I don't care. Whatever misinformation is needed to counteract the misinformation of the Trump/MAGA machine - especially The Big Lie - works for keeping Trump out of office. Misinformation is not good no matter where it comes from, but as long as MAGA is going to churn it out, the other side needs to fight fire with fire.

Doing this does not go against Google’s terms of service, nor is it illegal. But if you read Sara’s story there are other legitimate concerns.
