Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

In the video their is a clip of the media calling Harris the border czar. Whatever term you want to use she was put in charge of the border.

Show us the press release from the WH with those words, or just be quiet about it. The media, esp. right wing media, ran with it and it wasn’t accurate at all.

This is a lie. He promised to pick a woman, he never promised it would be any particular ethnicity. We know you are desperate and will say (actually just parrot) anything to discredit her. We’ve seen the lengths MAGA will go to on social media to smear her. It’s pretty disgusting, IMO.

Is there anyway you are not as disgusted by the Criminal such that you are going to support him?

If you are that disgusted by him as well, and you choose none of the above, leave that ballot blank, or write in say, Abraham Lincoln. Something like that then I will think you are alright in your stance. That's all I ask of Republicans.

I'm not lockstep where puting down Republican are concerned even in this era of that Criminal.

Did you know that if I didn't have four neighbors who are Republicans, when I get out of the house to fix our community road, or have to shovel 12 inches of snow off of it because no one has a snow plow here where it hardly ever snows, I would have to do all of that work by myself.

My Republican neighbors are good at seeing me out there doing that work and they come out to help me. Always have, they are dependable. My liberal neighbors who out number the conservative by a lot can be depended to smile and wave as they drive by me while I'm working alone on our 1/2 mile long road.

Two winters ago I dug snow out so cars as well as 4x4's could get in and out, digging that road out for three long days. That snow would have melted before I could have do it without their help, i.e. the people whout 4x4's would have been traped, not able to get out for food or medical care for at least a week if not ten days.

So I consider you to be apart of us. I sure hope you find him even more disgusting than you do Harris.

All together we're Americans.

No you aren’t talking about the media being wrong, go gaslight somewhere else. You were trying (pretty desperately) to pin the entire border crisis on Harris. Which is based on a lie, and yet you still push it.

Who built those cages you’re referring to? Personally I don’t know what’s to be done but turning people loose in the country isn’t the answer in my opinion. People will vote their conscience on this. I may be wrong here but it was the 90’s I believe when the democrats were against immigration like this.
 
Having border sovereignty and making sure our existing laws are followed is not controversial... nor should it be a partisan issue for people with any sensibility. Making illegal boarder crossings legal / decriminalized... and/or simply refusing to enforce the current immigration laws as a policy platform... should be a non-starter for everyone that is a legal voting citizen of the US.

Incarcerating people for illegal activity is what happens to every citizen of the US... non-citizens don't deserve anything more or less.

Anyway... ¡Viva el sistema bipartidista!

The likely 2024 presidential election campaign between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump begins with no clear leader, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS after President Joe Biden ended his bid for reelection.

It’s a phone/internet survey of the same participants in April, June, and July for head to head matchups.

Trump held a 6pt lead over Biden in both early polls but drops to +3 over Harris in July. This is before the DNC and doesn’t factor Kennedy typically peeling more support off Trump than Dems.

Harris and Dems have a ton of work to do in the next 100 days to win this but early poll numbers are supporting Biden/Harris switch.

It is still a polling honeymoon. Polls in a week or two will be more reliable. If the excitement holds, then there will be some real worry coming from Trump’s campaign.

I said that in my first post in this thread I believe. I didn’t vote for him last time. I want a President that unites people. I am sick of how people can’t even have a civil conversation without it coming to my side vs their side.

I lost a close friend a couple years ago. I was laying in a hospital bed for a month. This friend kept calling and messaging me to not let them give me drugs. That they were killing me. That I should be on Ivermectin and not what the hospital was giving me. That I should support Trump because blah blah blah. When I got out of the hospital alive after the crap I went through he told me he couldn’t be friends with someone who wouldn’t listen to reason. We have not spoken since.

She clearly says you have to obey the rules, but she doesn’t want people, and she specifically mentions babies, confined to jail for it. This would have been during the time that Trump was taking children away from their parents by the context clues.

I don’t expect you and Info will give her a fair chance to win your vote. I know you won’t. But you have definitely mischaracterized what she said. It happens all the time. No Dems want a complete open border with anyone able to come and go as they please. It’s just more partisan bullshirt.

I think the Democrats have been relatively on this page since the 1950's when Ike tried to deport his way out of this problem, way back then. Democrats objected to that way of doing.

Here's Arlo Guthrie singing his song Deportees. It's a timeless classic, shows where Democrats have stood on this issue for the last 70 years.



Harris isn't saying open the border, she's saying we ought not crimilize them such that we imprison a huge mass of them.

And that we shouldn't forcibly deport them unless there is a country who will acknowledge that they are their citizens, and will take them back. That's a basic need to get clearance to land our aircraft in that country to unload those deportees.

We don’t incarcerate civil violations. Border crossing is not a criminal infraction, just civil.

Everyone comes in without being turned away. What she clearly said in that clip was to not incarcerate families. Immigration violations are civil with the exception of re-entry violations after a law was passed in the 20’s. Catching and sending people back to their country of origination when they aren’t seeking asylum isn’t an open border.

The idea of letting anyone in is considered an open border policy by MAGA supporters. There was a bill that went to congress earlier this year that would have alleviated the current problem but for some reason Trump didn’t want it passed. Glad his election is more important than border security.
