I mean. It may cost him Texas and Oklahoma. Oh wait he wasn’t winning there anyways.

Fact is most people agree with him. Oil is. Dinosaur. A former company of mine Jacobs, which is huge, sold their oil and gas division- it was their largest.

He also made clear that it is a mixed bag by 2035 and no oil by 2050.

I went at checked Fox News and they are talking almost exclusively about the laptop and that he talked about Hitler (which I think was actually pretty cringeworthy)

Yeah, it's weird, I checked my feeds, and I'm not seeing Biden being hammered on the oil comment yet. I wonder if the Trump campaign is so focused on the laptop they won't push Biden's oil comments. I assume they'll get to it eventually though.

Saying you're going to get rid of an entire industry is never a good statement from a Presidential candidate. Even if the reality is more nuanced and a good policy. Seems like a rookie mistake.

I have several Shell friends... The said the EXact same thing just a week ago.

Royal Dutch Shell. Will be transitioning

Yeah, there a lot of oil companies that are already transitioning to "energy companies".

    Bingo.

If I'm Biden and see this as a problem, I approach them to set the record straight. Publicly.

But there is no doubt that the big three have already begun their transition.

The oil sands are shuttered. Refineries are closed. Oil is being propped to keep production even going.

Frankly the two most talked about things from today in my opinion

    1) how completely callous the “president” came off talking to the American people, if you can even call it that.

    2) his shirt show of an interview on 60 minutes once it airs

From what I've seen in highlights this was basically a wash. Trump's handlers obviously made it clear to him he couldn't pull a repeat of his first performance. No idea how it will impact the race because I have no idea how anyone could be undecided at this point.

Overall I thought Biden kicked his lily white arse. He gave his plans and all Trump did was birch

Trump came off petulant and completely incapable of being a human. When he mocked Joe for talking to families about losing someone due to Covid I was shocked. It takes a lot for that meanie to surprise me anymore with his complete lack of humanity.

the only one heavily betting on oil is Exxon
I believe Chevron is following Exxon's lead as well, so both American oil majors are betting on the past.

That and the answer on race (the talk).

Trump was asked do you understand this "talk" and what do you say to those families?

He never once looked in the camera and said a single word to those families. He went straight to "what did u do Joe?"

At the end of day this debate was really interesting to hear Joe and his actual plans. I like them. And of they can flip senate, most of this gets done.

He did say “Yes I do”
It’s like answering yes or no to an essay question.

One great thing about tonight is that, if things go the way some of us hope they will- tonight was the last time we EVER have to watch Donald Trump in a debate again... Hell, really the last time we ever need to listen to him utter a word, since I normally pay no attention to him anyway.
