A letter written by Trump campaign manager already calls the idea of muting the microphones “unacceptable”. It’s toward the end of this crazy letter which reads like a campaign ad. Do you think Trump makes him write this way? From what I have read, Stepien is a campaign professional, rather than a Trump true believer.

What’s even funnier? The foreign policy portion?

It’s a lie- the moderators get to pick the topics for debates 1&3......

It’s all projection. Biden has trouble keeping his “chain” of talk, okay Mr. hydrosonic. 🙄

I know it is "tradition" to have these debates, but really, how many people out there are still on the fence? It's got to be incredibly small percentage. I mean, if you are undecided STILL, after 4 years of hot garbage trump and company wrecking the country, WHAT exactly will it take to sway your opinion?

All of the polling shows that there are very few, if any, undecideds remaining. I tend to think that some of them just don't want to say who they're voting for.

I’m torn on the mute participants decision. The public deserves a better debate than the first one. However, muting Trump will make him seemed restrained. The unrestrained, ranting Trump is what the public needs to see.

I think there is no good reason for Biden to debate Trump again. All that’s going to happen is Trump will talk Hunter and Joe corruption. Trump is going to claim Hunter molests children and Biden is going to lose it. Trump is also going to push SC packing. I don’t see how Biden comes out better off.

They aren’t muting mics the whole time.

Each section of the debate is 15 minutes. The muted portion is only for each candidate’s 2 minute opening remarks to said topic. After that the shirt will fly.

In other words, there will be plenty of time for Trump to look like the arse he is

I have full confidence in a Trump meltdown and complete inability to actually answer any questions with the mute because he'll be seething the entire time Biden is answering a question and use all of his interruption tactics as answers. I missed the first debate and am trying to make myself available for this one. At least I can watch the replay on the NBC app the following day if I miss it.

They have seen that Trump more than enough.

What they need to see is the empty, thoughtless Trump who cannot string 2 policy laden sentences together without notes or teleprompter.
