Meant to post this when the Scott Adams/Dilbert story broke

Who are far right celebrities that you are aware of?

I think Jon Voight is probably the granddaddy of them all with James Woods not far behind

There's Ted Nugent for sure

Hercules' Kevin Sorbo and Lois & Clark's Dean Cain

Scott Baio had his moment at the RNC, I haven't heard anything from him since

I'd add Kanye West but he more seems to be just losing his mind

I'm pretty sure that Drew Carey, Tim Allen and Kelsey Grammer are conservative Republicans (which is fine) but as far as I know none of them went off the deep end

Roseanne Barr seemed to go full far right

Growing Pains Kirk Cameron is super religious, but I've never heard him comment on anything other than religion (it would just be an assumption that someone that religious is far right)

The pandemic opened the doors to some anti-vax, conspiracy minded celebs which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with politics

Those would include:

Person of Interest's Jim Caviezel
Black Panther Letitia Wright
Lost's Evangeline Lilly

Think of anyone else?

As far as I know he still hasn't said anything publicly overtly political keeping it purely religious

But he's just a hop, skip and a jump away







 
Religion, especially the three so-called Abrahamic faiths, is, by its very nature political. Its purpose which, imo, is denied by the internal power holders, is social control. Not content with merely worshipping they must seek to utilize the law and the state to gather special consideration in order to advance their view of the way society should organize itself. This is particularly true for conservatives within the structure. And, of course, deity approval provides cover for their plans and actions.

I am unsurprised that Cameron said what he said.
 




played Hercules in mid 90s was big for a time, he’s been very far right for awhile now

Does anyone know exactly how/why Kirk Cameron became so religious?

All I’ve ever heard is Growing Pains was one of the top shows on TV, he was the breakout star and Tiger Beat heartthrob, the show goes on hiatus and when they come back to start filming the next season he was born again, and using his clout (devout clout? Ha!) to demand script changes and cast changes, pretty sure he got an actress fired because she posed in Playboy a couple years earlier

But I’ve never heard what happened during the hiatus that caused this change

He’s been like that forever.
There were reports he had a girl, Julie McCullough, fired off Growing Pains because she was a Playmate.
He nixed a storyline on the show because it implied his character slept with his girlfriend out of wedlock.

Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid said in a recent interview that he plans to vote for former President Trump in 2024, describing the presumptive GOP nominee as someone who “stands up to people.”

In an interview released Tuesday on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Quaid denounced what he called the “weaponization of our justice system,” echoing many of Trump’s concerns about the state of the country and criticizing President Biden’s approach to foreign policy.

“I myself, I think — I think I’m gonna vote for him … in the next election. Yes, I am,” Quaid said when asked what he thinks of Trump.

“It just seems to me, it just makes sense,” he continued. “I was ready not to vote for Trump until — what I saw is more than politics. I see a weaponization of our justice system, and a challenge to our Constitution.”

Quaid took issue with the investigations into Trump’s alleged criminal behavior, which have led to two federal indictments and two state indictments, including the ongoing trial in New York related to hush money payments to a porn actor ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

Trump also faces both a federal indictment and an indictment in Georgia over his efforts to stay in power after losing the 2020 presidential election. And special counsel Jack Smith brought another federal indictment against Trump alleging unlawful retention of White House records and obstruction of law enforcement’s efforts to retrieve them.

“Trump is the most investigated person probably in the history of the world. And they haven’t been able to really get him on anything,” Quaid said.

On the hush money trial, he added, “In fact, what is the crime? I still can’t figure it out.”..........

Well, Dennis, I don’t give a flying flock if you “can’t figure it out”. Trump is an idiot, a serial fraudster who screwed suppliers and sub-contractors on a regular basis. He is also a craven coward who performs metaphorical oral ministrations on Orban, Putin, Xi and Kim.

Come on, Dennis. I know you and I were both alive while Hillary Clinton was being investigated for everything under the sun. From Whitewater to Benghazi to emails, the Republicans tried for years, desperately, to pin anything they could find on her. Anything at all they could make stick.

Cheato's just reaping that same whirlwind. Except he totally IS guilty of several felonies. He's already been convicted on 34 charges. Actual prosecutors went before actual grand juries in actual courtrooms and obtained actual indictments.
 
Well, I didn’t know about Ice Cube. Saw a rant from him and he’s really bitter. Seems to support Trump. Disappointing.



 
So John Cleese has said some very questionable things the last few years, mostly around cancel culture, that made him a bit of a far right darling

Lately he’s been saying some very anti Trump, anti MAGA things so people aren’t sure where he stands

Then he posts this



Leading to a bit of a “debate” about which half of America he’s referring to

Is it the left that truly “gets” Monty Python and it goes over the right’s heads or vice versa?
