They could start by saying "no, we are not socialists", even if they favor socialistic programs, instead of embracing the "democratic socialist" label, and not becoming a platform for the Bernie Sanderses of the world. But they were all falling over one another trying to out-woke the other.

Ah...I agree the pandering to the far left was gross, I remember the 1st Dem Primary debate where they asked all of the candidates if they'd support giving universal healthcare to illegal aliens...they all raised their hands like a bunch of morons...the proper answer was to keep your hand down and when asked why say something like "I'd provide universal healthcare to all taxpayers", freaking easy. I didn't finish college and got that answer right.

God that seems to be a super long play for something that should just be logic!

I know I get it is like reasoning with an addict but man this is just logic.

Humans aren't rational creatures. We usually make up our minds and then find justifications for it afterwards. This is not a conservative/liberal thing, it's a human thing.

You can't out logic partisanship. You don't go for the win, you just ask lots of questions on what they believe and why, and on occasion ask questions on how belief x matches with statement or action Y from Trump.

    the schadenfreude is delicious.

what a bunch of snowflakes. You all lost!
The trumpers are collectively the Dukes brothers from Trading Places in Arizona and Nevada “turn the machines back on!!!”

and declaring that the counts must be stopped in PA and MI. How does that even work?!?

I can’t wait to see Trump’s idiot sons get indicted by SDNY.

I saw that in a youtube recap. I told to myself "raise your hand if you want to lose the election". The next day, the headline in the NY post over a photo of all of them raising their hands said "raise your hand if you want to lose the election" :hihi:

To be fair, the systems they were looking to put in place would provide health care to anyone here.. so if you were a traveler from the UK and visiting the US, and broke our foot, you'd be able to be treated here.

That's often how it is in other countries with universal health care, or some hybrid model, where a visitor pays a little bit, but still pennies on the dollar.

Anyone here think Trump has a chance of winning 55% of the remaining mail-in ballots in Arizona? CNN does...

    :idunno:
He has only won 45% of the mail-in votes so far. It's 2 biggest population centers are under 90% of the votes counted, so the answer is no way Trump catches Biden.
I live in Ga, in my 30s, female, and have voted Republican in every election until now. I have two degrees and am a CPA. I wasn’t a huge Trump supporter in 2016 - I was anti Hillary and I liked he was a businessman and an outsider. I’m not a very literal person so his words about women really never bothered me. I don’t really care what someone says - I care what they do. I did laughed at Conservatives who became his sheeple because he’s never been a Conservative before.
He lost my vote by bungling covid, particularly firing the task force and not accepting other country’s tests because we just had to have our own. 🙄 I think it’s unrealistic to expect a full plan to deal with something we haven’t had in 100 yrs but he had nothing. It set us way behind and set us up to fail. I was also disappointed in the TCJA as from what I saw by working in corporate was corporate using their savings to give executive bonuses and buy back stock instead of hiring more people and giving it back to employees. Covid though flipped me.
I would say overall on a political spectrum, I’m now a fiscal conservative but either social moderate or liberal.
Thanks for the response. I told my wife earlier today that Trump would've won, if not for Covid. I don't think you're alone in that. I'm a bit surprised that it took that to get you to change. Since you're willing to explain your perspective, what were your thoughts about the firings of the inspector generals (I know the grammar, but I don't like it)? What about the firing of the FBI director that was investigating him? What about the firing of the heads of the Justice Department and using the Justice Department as a political cudgel? What about not defending U.S. interests against dictators? What about his abuse of campaign laws as with Stormy Daniels? Stealing from his charity? Hiding his taxes, and it's potential conflicts of interests, and owing over $400M to who knows who? His collusion (not conspiracy) to win the last election? His hints of violence if he loses? His refusal to say he would leave office peacefully? His profiting off of his office? I could go on. Were those things not a big deal to you? Did it really take bungling Covid? What kept you in his corner for so long?

Which is fine, and that I have no problem with. But, the question was a simple hand raise to a dumb loaded question...A simple hand raise to show support for a complex and potentially divisive policy was not a smart response. They all fell for the trap.

I'm going to go with a completely different take here. This can only be true if these issues aren't supported by a large portion of the population. They are though. I would argue the mirage is people telling there isn't a huge amount of support for these issues. How else do you have polls showing huge support for stuff like universal healthcare?

The real issue is the DNP doesn't want popular progressive wing to take over the party because the corporate money dries up. This talking point about the progressives being to liberal doesn't match polling.
