I'll probably be flipping between CNN, NBC, and probably PBS if they have coverage.
What station you got?

Agreed. Or someone should have jumped on the moment to explain it.Which is fine and that...I have no problem with. But, the question was a simple hand raise to a dumb loaded question...A simple hand raise to show support for a complex and potentially divisive policy was not a smart response. They all fell for the trap.
Humans aren't rational creatures. We usually make up our minds and then find justifications for it afterwards. This is not a conservative/liberal thing, it's a human thing.
You can't out logic partisanship. You don't go for the win, you just ask lots of questions on what they believe and why, and on occasion ask questions on how belief x matches with statement or action Y from Trump.
I have found the vast majority of 'evangelicals' merely use religion as a proxy for their social beliefs.I agree with you I know.
But it just seems logical that a porn star raw dogging guy while his wife and newborn are in his life would automatically disqualify him for actual religious people. You know logic.
You know the exactly the same reason religious women hated Hillary for taking back her cheating husband.
But yes I get it is like an intervention trying to get minds changed.
Covid may have flipped me, but it was more the straw that broke the camels back. Admittedly many of the items you mentioned above did not bother me. His revolving cabinet bothered me as I don’t like people who only want yes men. I’m a fiscal conservative and it started to tick me off when he was running $1T deficits in a “good economy” yet no one cared. The recent expose by the NYT bothered me. I think most if not all of the tax moves he made were legal, but his $400m in debt that he can’t pay back deeply disturbed me and busted the myth that I mistakenly believed that he’s a business genius. It is also a national security risk depending on who he owes. Like my dental hygienist who is a lifelong Republican but voted for Biden - we both just got tired of making excuses for him.He has only won 45% of the mail-in votes so far. It's 2 biggest population centers are under 90% of the votes counted, so the answer is no way Trump catches Biden.
Thanks for the response. I told my wife earlier today that Trump would've won, if not for Covid. I don't think you're alone in that. I'm a bit surprised that it took that to get you to change. Since you're willing to explain your perspective, what were your thoughts about the firings of the inspector generals (I know the grammar, but I don't like it)? What about the firing of the FBI director that was investigating him? What about the firing of the heads of the Justice Department and using the Justice Department as a political cudgel? What about not defending U.S. interests against dictators? What about his abuse of campaign laws as with Stormy Daniels? Stealing from his charity? Hiding his taxes, and it's potential conflicts of interests, and owing over $400M to who knows who? His collusion (not conspiracy) to win the last election? His hints of violence if he loses? His refusal to say he would leave office peacefully? His profiting off of his office? I could go on. Were those things not a big deal to you? Did it really take bungling Covid? What kept you in his corner for so long?
Good for you. I respect Republican positions. I think they are more right sometimes, but by and large, I agree more with Democrats, which is why I vote that way. I was also appalled at the huge deficits with the good economy. I always said we should've been paying down the debt, since Obama left Trump a strong economy, that would've grown without the deficits. It was classic cognitive dissonance. I hope the Republican party puts forth people that you and possibly even I can support in the future.Covid may have flipped me, but it was more the straw that broke the camels back. I dunno... I think he comported himself well enough during the campaign. The closeness of this election merely reflects that there are a lot of people who do not like the Democrats be it for legitimate or perceived reasons.Biden’s speech just now was the most presidential he has looked since this started. If he would have spoken like that from day 1 it would not be this close. Very good and impressive speech.
It could be framed as a way to eliminate "fake news" as a way to put people's feet to the fire when it comes time for Congress to vote on it.You aren't kidding with that one.
That is the reason fox news and others even have a lane
I said it in another thread. Most Republicans were more interested in retaining the senate for this reason. We needed to reset our party and it needs to start with compassionate and honorable people. Hopefully the attitude can change from condescending to understanding. We can also get back to policy on both sides instead of finger pointing. We can be as strong as ever together if we want to work together.Good for you. I respect Republican positions. For at least a couple years here Biden's not going to have the votes in the Senate to do anything with scotus.I said it in another thread. on a side note if Biden try’s to change the scotus it will be political suicide. He needs to keep the status quo and govern as an American like he said.
I think to many times he stopped to Trumps level with the name calling and the sarcasm. Again I hope this is the end of the decisiveness. I’m fine discussing issues civilly.I dunno... I think he comported himself well enough during the campaign. Michigan called for Trump. It took a second day but this is just about over (notwithstanding the coming attempts to steal the election through the courts, which I don't think will go anywhere)
