Frankly, I'm completely ignorant when it comes to the Critical Race Theory curriculum. What is it, where does it come from, and is it legitimate? Has anyone here read it and maybe give a quick summary?

If this has been covered in another thread, then I missed it.

Here is what it feels to be gaslighted:

"Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse where a person or group makes someone question their sanity, perception of reality, or memories. People experiencing gaslighting often feel confused, anxious, and unable to trust themselves".

If you guys feel gaslighted it simply means there is questioning of previously held ideas and perception of reality. Perhaps you guys are experiencing some sort of psychological stress for having to look at a different perspective. This may very well be the step before a red pill moment.

If you guys feel anxious or confused I suggest counseling.
We don't actually feel gaslighted. That would require a competent gaslighter.

We just recognize pathetic attempts at gaslighting.

Time and time again you post derogatory words and never make an effort to discuss any issue.
Wait until he starts his arguments with speech laws you might have broken and quoting the TOS of this site, then you know you accidently touched a nerve.

Now you're trying to gaslight us about how you aren't gaslighting us. Meta gaslighting. How pathetic.

How could I gaslight you? Do you feel you are doubting your perception of reality? Are you anxious?

CD, this is silly and just another way to avoid having a discussion that would make you face the fact that some of your long held views could be incorrect. And somehow you call that gaslighting.

Sure, if by 'touched a nerve' you mean, 'posted something wildly untrue that you couldn't back up at all'.

If you really want to spot the people who've had a response that touched a nerve, look for the ones who can't stop responding, but are constantly evasive and avoid addressing the points at all. Especially if they then bring it back up in another thread. Those are the real giveaways.

    And here you are.

    Meaningless remark Mr F,
Sure, if by 'touched a nerve' you mean, 'posted something wildly untrue that you couldn't back up at all'.
Please quote what I said that was not true.

Which point I am avoiding? Be specific. This should be easy Mr. F.

This is your MO. You say the argument is flawed but you cannot point out why the argument is flawed. How could I gaslight you? Do you feel you are doubting your perception of reality? Are you anxious?

No, I said you tried. The implication is that you failed miserably.

If you want some examples, though, I'd be more than happy to provide them. When your patronizing posting style was pointed out, you apologized that "stating facts" is patronizing as if that is the complaint. You know full well that it's not because it's been pointed out more than once that your attitude and word choice is condescending.

You also quoted RobF and said the following:

"This is your MO. You say the argument is flawed but you cannot point out why the argument is flawed."

This was only a few posts after you quoted him giving a succinct argument to show that your interpretation of Sapolsky is incorrect. When you quoted that particular post, you failed to give any rebuttal.

You are a hypocrite, a liar, and your levels of projection are through the roof. You are unable to carry on a simple conversation. You have three types of posts: the ones where you just disagree with someone without providing a rational argument, the ones where you say blatantly racist crap, and the ones where you try to explain away your blatantly racist crap.

And before you say this is an ad hominem attack with no argument, I will point out that I provided examples to support my position and offered an opinion along with that argument.

Brandon: Silly one liners are silly. I know you are capable of putting up a credible post.
I'll be glad to move on from this point as soon as you admit you're not a moderate.

Anyone talking about "red pill moments" has spent more than their fair share of time on extremist sites.

References to the Red pill certainly always give me that cultist vibe.

Mr. F spews a lot of negativity 24/7 and never makes a specific point. Are you one of his minions?
I'm nobody's minion. I can, however, read a thread and see when someone makes the mistake of thinking that they were the only person being replied to in a post and point that out.

It seems you know more about the red pill than I do. Does that make you a right winger? To me red pill simply means realizing the other side has a valid argument. It is an epiphany! I am certain that many here fear that moment. No big deal to me since I used to be a socialist when I was in my early 20s. I had my epiphany on my own when I realized we are living in the most prosperous time in world history.

Sure, I get it! But, the idiomatic expression has merits.

"Red pill comes from the popular and influential 1999 sci-fi action film, The Matrix. There’s a scene early on in the movie in which the main character, Neo, is offered two pills: a red one and a blue one. The red pill represents an awakening, but one that could be difficult and painful. Neo’s world will be changed uncomfortably if he takes the red pill, but he’ll be made aware of the truth of the world. The blue pill represents comfort and security. If he takes the blue pill, he’ll continue to live in blissful ignorance."

The concept is useful even if white nationalists use the term. A conservative could get red piled into liberalism.

I am aware of the expression.

The cool bros on the interwebs explained it to me years ago. Thanks for catching us up on 2010.
