Frankly, I'm completely ignorant when it comes to the Critical Race Theory curriculum. What is it, where does it come from, and is it legitimate? Has anyone here read it and maybe give a quick summary?

I think most of the people here talking about structural racism and white privilege are white people.

I'm not playing the victim card when i acknowledge that my life has been made much easier because of the existence of racist white people.

It doesn’t make you “woke” either to acknowledge it either.

Admitting that the color of your skin gave you advantages over others doesn’t make you a bad person for being who you are. It doesn’t even make you wrong.

I’m 44. I do well. I was a total f’up when I was 14-28. Not violent criminal mind you, just a regular f’up. But my dad was in the military and I got good grades so boys will be boys, right? So I thought too so good for me right? But what I didn’t realize until I was older, is that it wasn’t boys will be boys. Black boys weren’t told that by judges like I was. DA’s didn’t agree to expunge records for them either. So I got to go to stupid classes and talk to a therapist instead of real trouble. Multiple times. I am the living embodiment of white privilege.

Having said that, my life wasn’t made successful by white privilege. That was due to my hard work once I stopped being a knucklehead. But the point is, I still had a chance to stop being a knucklehead. Other Americans that are the same age that do the same things I did aren’t given the same breaks. That is white privilege and it is very real.

I think my problem is who determining the truth that is being taught? Obviously (parents), don't have any say. Are these 'truths' brought by activists or educators? I will argue that they are now one in the same in academia at this point.

I loath tick tok as an angry 'white man' but it has been a godsend to show the amount of political indoctrination going on in elementary and above.

My general rule is if (parents) across the board are against something then it is probably not a good thing.

It should be obvious if something is historically factual as opposed to something that someone is making up. It's funny that the people who just a few years ago took great joy in calling people snowflakes are now themselves behaving in such snow flake manor when it comes to teaching history.

Sure, they are using key words and easily remembered terms that their followers can repeat without actually knowing what the hell they are talking about but in pretty much every instance where they are challenged on what they are saying, they simply can't back it up or point to any instances of occurrences of the claims they are making.

As to Tik Tok, I'd be interested in knowing why you are angry and what it has to do with Tik Tok. I've never heard of it being a platform that angry white guys should avoid or abhor. As this forum and Saintsreport are pretty much the extent of my social media dalliances, I'm not at all up to speed on Tik Tok showing political indoctrination in elementary schools. Perhaps you could post some instance of that.

Finally, as for parents across the board, I'd say that's not an accurate statement as parents across the board are not against children being taught the truth about history. There are also parents against taking a vaccine that could spare their lives and the lives of their children but here we are with dead parents and orphans because under-educated parents were against something that could save their lives for political reasons.
