Frankly, I'm completely ignorant when it comes to the Critical Race Theory curriculum. What is it, where does it come from, and is it legitimate? Has anyone here read it and maybe give a quick summary?

If this has been covered in another thread, then I missed it.

reading that article, it seemed the officers were unable to present sufficient evidence to charge them. Could it be they just started arresting people and not really arresting the ones who were actually doing the looting?
The difference in this and the insurrectionists at the capitol is, those guys were dumb enough to video and record themselves doing it.. what more proof is need to charge them?

Did you read that article? It's not exactly saying what you claim.

In any case, why would anybody here be responsible for or " must agree" with a random circuit attorney's actions?
You find other examples. I know you want to burn it all down anyway.

Good then maybe a few of those 100,000 -200,000 per month crossing the border can stay at your house.
Just want to point out that, even if someone does support those levels of asylum seekers and immigration, that implies only that they should also support the appropriate level of resources, including the resources they contribute, going towards supporting that.

It does not, in any way, imply that they should personally house asylum seekers and other migrants, any more than supporting public healthcare implies they should be hosting surgeries in their living room, for example.

Shouldn't really need to be said, but apparently it does. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah because somebody will do something

shouldn’t really need to be said, right?

So, that story hasn’t been updated since the day after it was written. It also liberally quotes a Republican AG, who clearly has a partisan axe to grind here.

The local attorney had to release most of them because the police didn’t do the reports. She only has 24 hours to either charge or release. I think the volume of arrests probably got in the way of the police doing their paperwork. I know my family member in law enforcement was working crazy long hours during the protests. The article makes clear that she has 3 years to charge them, she just couldn’t hold them any longer.

Since the article was never updated, neither of us know who got charged and who didn’t.

    Got any other examples?

Never mind. Saying that we want to burn everything down just shows me that you’re not a serious person and aren’t worth trying to converse with.

But it is ok to loot and burn down businesses now. Happy for that?
Stuff like that has been happening since forever in the history of this country. Can't really recall the last time a hostile force infiltrated the Capitol since the War of 1812. I'm done with people burying their heads in the sand and pretending the events of January 6th weren't bad -- they've normalized such behavior and erode people's belief in our system. A system which will almost certainly crumble within our lifetimes because people think January 6th is no worse than the property damage associated with the George Floyd protests.

I'm too lazy to list them and fortunately Google exists:

Find one instance where a sitting President incited a mob to disrupt the counting of electoral ballots to overturn the results of an election which an endless amount of judges and even GOP state officials said was legitimate and get back to me. Yet conservatives on this forum will continually insist the riots from last summer spell the end of this country. Spoilers: they don't. You're focusing on the wrong thing because of your political leanings. At best you are easily distracted by outrage politics and the culture war, at worst you approve of authoritarianism so long as you like what it's preaching. There are countries like that in this world and most of them are in the Middle East.

Hell yeah, the attack on the Capitol was beyond the pale. It should forever remain a stain on our country's political history. An obvious low point. People trying to downplay this thing are missing the boat. There's really nothing that compares.
