Figured we should start a separate thread on the arrests and those involved in the storming of the Capitol. I know it has been talked about in the other thread a lot, but for the ones who just want to follow the ones arrested and/or charged, this will be an easier way to see updates on the investigations.

Link below is everyone who has been arrested. But we know there will be more.

The website seems to be updated with new information daily.

The ones who are getting the most air time:

    LOL...
I so remember watching this as BREAKING NEWS from my hospital bed.

ETA: Damn, they out him for working as a snitch for the police at the end of the article. This dude might not live much longer. He sent over a dozen people to prison.

His wife can keep him in check? Where was she on the lead up to all this?

    count me skeptical
    ===============

A man accused of helping to coordinate a self-styled militia’s incursion into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was released Monday to home confinement after arguing his wife would keep him from falling back into extremist views.

“She has no tolerance for that kind of talk,” federal public defender Angie Halim said.
Only after a federal judge agreed to release Joseph Hackett did a prosecutor mention that his wife, Deena, hosted a political podcast.

While the prosecutor did not describe the show’s content, a Deena Hackett co-hosted two episodes of a podcast called “A&D;’s Patriot Battle Cry (Rub THAT In!!)” in which she described her husband as a “political prisoner” who was “trying to preserve … this country.” The podcast also includes references to far-right conspiracy theories.

Reached at home, Deena Hackett declined to comment. Her husband’s defense attorneys did not immediately return a request for comment.
Prosecutors allege in court records that Hackett led Sarasota members of the Oath Keepers, an anti-government group with chapters across the country.

In preparation for Jan. 6, prosecutors say, Hackett coordinated with founder Stewart Rhodes and took part in firearms training. The day before the riot, the government alleges, he brought guns to a hotel in Virginia for a “Quick Reaction Force.”……….

Sounds like the judge got snookered. Can’t the lawyer get in trouble for misrepresenting the wife to the judge?

    Seems like a good idea.

She did such a good job of keeping her Cro Maganon home in the first place.

ETA- now I see she is a nut job just like him. Maybe he caught Covid in prison and can give it to her too

That judge can change his ruling. What's more messed up than the judge releasing him is the prosecutors knowing this and not mentioning it until after the judge had already ruled to release him.

Could the lawyers get in any trouble for not revealing this info beforehand?
I don't think the defense attorneys hid anything. The story made it sound like the prosecutors knew and didn't say anything about it until the judge had already ruled. They made it sound like it was at the same hearing, not a later date. If the defense didn't notify the prosecutors, maybe they could get in trouble, but honestly, you'd think it is the prosecutor's job to dig up dirt on who is going to be keeping an eye on his defendant when released. Doesn't seem like this dude's wife tried to hide her fanaticism.

    Interesting read
    =============

It’s a common refrain from some of those charged in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and their Republican allies: The Justice Department is treating them harshly because of their political views while those arrested during last year’s protests over racial injustice were given leniency.

Court records tell a different story.

An Associated Press review of court documents in more than 300 federal cases stemming from the protestssparked by George Floyd’s death last year shows that dozens of people charged have been convicted of serious crimes and sent to prison.

The AP found that more than 120 defendants across the United States have pleaded guilty or were convicted at trial of federal crimes including rioting, arson and conspiracy.

More than 70 defendants who’ve been sentenced so far have gotten an average of about 27 months behind bars. At least 10 received prison terms of five years or more.

The dissonance between the rhetoric of Capitol rioters and their supporters and the record established by courts highlights both the racial tension inherent in their arguments — the pro-Donald Trump rioters were largely white and last summer’s protesters were more diverse — and the flawed assessment at the heart of their claims.

“The property damage or accusations of arson and looting from last year, those were serious and they were dealt with seriously, but they weren’t an attack on the very core constitutional processes that we rely on in a democracy, nor were they an attack on the United States Congress,” said Kent Greenfield, a professor at Boston College Law School.

To be sure, some defendants have received lenient deals.

At least 19 who have been sentenced across the country got no prison time or time served, according to the AP’s review. Many pleaded guilty to lower-level offenses, such as misdemeanor assault, but some were convicted of more serious charges, including civil disorder.

In Portland, Oregon — where demonstrations, many turning violent, occurred nightly for months after a white Minneapolis police officer killed Floyd — about 60 of the roughly 100 cases that were brought have been dismissed, court records show……….

couldn’t he have issued a blanket pardon to all those being “unfairly persecuted” before he left office?
Optimus, thats a reasonable, legitimately probing question. The damning, very likely, and unassailable reason is that privately Trump didnt and still doesn't give two shirts about most of those Jan. 6 insurrectionists, Proud Boys, OathKeepers, and Boogaloos who ultimately failed in their overall objective, which was to prevent the 2020 EEC certification authenticating Joe Biden's win as President. Why would Trump, a malignant narcissist, want to pardon people who failed him in attempting to overturn a legally, constitutional verified, free and fairly won election.

According to Woodward and Costa's upcoming new book, Trump was in such a frenzied, manic, mentally-unstable state that he vindictively probably in the moment, hoped that every one of those Jan. 6 insurrectionists rotted away in prison for 25-30 year sentences while he can rely upon enough of his Republican lackeys in Congress and Senate to vote to not impeach him, again. He had a relatively free slate, for the time being. Why should he waste his time on melodramatic, comical-looking losers who failed him? A malignant narcissist doesn't understand nor follows the concepts of appreciation, sincerity, doggedness, and persistence and unfettered loyalty, as delusional as those concepts seem applying it to Trump's neo-fascist, authoritian mindset and his MAGA cult of personality.

    i agree

It’s odd that it’s a question that his base and especially the people who were there aren't asking more

Not that it would make a difference

not issuing a pardon hasn't lessened their love of Trump at all

his “we’re going to March to the Capitol and I’ll be right there with you” then immediately turning around and going home didn’t seem to ruffle any feathers either

Also he has the added benefit of now championing them as being persecuted in his current 2024 grift.
