Now that they are dealing with the consequences of the policies that they have been supporting they are begging the federal government for help.

Once again - the current state of immigration policy isn’t the “left’s policy”. It’s the policy that the US Congress has laid out. Why didn’t Rs ever fix it? Why did they ignore it now and go home?

If Abbot truly cared about finding a solution to the problem at the southern border, he would be leaning on Texas' congressional representatives to pass laws to change the asylum process/border policy and working with the Biden White House to find possible temporary solutions. You know, the way our government was intended to work. But he doesn't do that, instead he runs cynical gambits meant to thrill the cynical right wing. And you cheer it on every time. He doesn't care about the acutal problem, just the points he can score by exploiting it.

It should be criminal neglect.

Hmmm, why didn’t Boehner bring a bill up for a vote when he was speaker? Republicans do not care about this other than as a tool to bash Democrats. Why don’t Republicans support criminally punishing companies or farms that employ these immigrants? Oh, I forgot to add that Republicans are in the majority in the House. So where are bills from them? If they have them why aren’t we seeing them? They don’t need Dems to put out a bill. No, they are more concerned about Hunter Biden’s junk and a sham impeachment.
