Thanks for your genuine attempt to be helpful though.

It's really hard for people to get visitors visas from some countries, especially if they don't own alot of property or have some strong ties to their home country.

Unfortunately, people applying for nonimmigrant visas don't have any due process rates, and the denials happen quick and without any recourse for the person applying.

To respond I say....
I thought that when Obama was office or now that Biden is in office my relatives and I who follow the law would get a better / fairer result....but No. Three months ago the US Embassy just took our money and denied them. So don't talk about the Republicans being to blame. They are not.
Your post was a partisan response.
I'm talking as a frustrated family member...me....a non affiliated Independently registered voter.
We were denied no matter who controlled congress or who was in the white house.
I hate when people take a post and just look at it as an opportunity to criticize a political party. My frustration transcends party politics.

This isn't a party issue no matter how much you try to make it one. The people making these decisions are career civil servants following departmental policy written by higher-ranking career civil servants. It's absurd to put the blame on the party in power.

What we can do, though, is point out your hypocrisy. You are personally frustrated that you followed a process and received no help, yet you have no problem with the way legal asylum seekers have been treated by Abbott and DeSantis. Perhaps you don't understand the legal process for seeking asylum.

Steve, I feel very bad for your troubles. Our immigration system is broken. But the people that were mistreated by DeSantis and Abbott were not breaking the law, as I understand it. Their means of entry is an accepted way to seek asylum. Samiam works in the system and does understand it better than I do, though. So he can tell us if I am wrong about this.

You are correct that neither party has exactly helped the situation. But there is a definite difference between them. Many Rs, the extreme, want to close all immigration and think of most asylum seekers as somehow “dirty” and from s-hole countries. That is who DeSantis and Abbott were pulling their stunts to impress, the MAGAs. At the same time that they demonize brown people crossing the southern border (and definitely there are illegal border crossings), they ignore the greatest source of illegal immigration - overstayed visas.

I do blame Rs for politicizing the situation and actually preventing real discussion about solutions. Illegal border crossings went up drastically under Trump when compared to Obama, you can look it up.

You've been told more than once that the people DeSantis shafted are not here illegally. They are asylum seekers, which is a legal process. Why do you keep ducking that?

When I lived in California decades ago I did not like the idea of immigrants sneaking in and making use of government services, I still don’t. I want people to come in legally, but at the same time Trump’s desire to build a 2000 mile wall to keep the dreaded illegal aliens out was total Bull, a political ploy, not only wildly expensive, but far from secure and not needed.

Consider the large agriculture corporations that use illegal immigrants for those jobs American’s won’t do. Remember bans on immigrants and crops spoiling in the fields. This has happened. A better solution would be holding employers responsible, huge fines, make it easier to become a citizen with ample work visas and oversight, and a National database of citizenship IDs which I thought existed in the form of a Social Security number, but maybe it does not.

And remember, the current climate is this country is totally f****d with mindless cutting of taxes for the last 40 years, elect me, I’ll lower your taxes and let the wealthy eat their cake, while our infrastructure is sagging/failing, the rich get richer, and there is not enough money for proper oversight, yet the fat cats get fatter and the rest of us suffer the consequences of unbridled greed. We have collectively made this bed, we have bigger fish to fry then poor people trying to sneak in. Who is the culprit? The GOP. Any notion that they are fiscally responsible is a huge joke… on us.

Also when you say illegal aliens, just remember that these are desperate human beings and to temper your indignation a bit. What would you do in their shoes?

BRICS trading using something other then the dollar is the (eventual) collapse of the dollar.

We will have a new dollar because Glenn predicts to completely and total collapse of the dollar. (Doesn't say how, global currency replacement - Glenn never mentions what currency would replace the dollar)

Democrats are going after Trump via Alvin Bragg.

He goes into the unjust persecution of the Christ figure Trump.

Republicans need Trump. He is the only man who can save them from this mess.

He used very flimsy logic to create a crisis, and then presents you would the cure(Trump).

What do I think off of it overall?

I'll modify a quote from one of my favorite tv shows.

I just watched ABC World News Tonight with David Muir.
Not a word on this story even though they showed Biden in Northern Ireland and spent roughly 3 minutes of air time on his visit to the Emerald Isle.
