I’m still confused, are we congratulating Biden for bringing down gas prices, or blaming him for increasing them?

J/k
That's a false dilemma.

We're riding with Biden in a saffron car.

That’s cool, I’m still not sure why gas prices are a political point (for either side).
My post, which apparently caused your confusion, was tongue-in-cheek. It was to point out how foolishly Rs have been blaming Biden for the price of a market-based commodity over which he has zero control, yet they will suddenly forget assigning him the power to control this commodity when the price drops.

When people came into this thread early on blaming Biden for the increase and I pointed out that he has no control over it, posters said I was wrong. So to amuse myself I have taken to praising Biden for the price coming down, knowing there will be “crickets” from the same posters who blamed him for the world-wide increase in oil prices.

Thanks for the clarification, I wasn’t sure if goal posts were being moved.

Not sure if there's anything to read into this relative to the mid-terms...

i know this isn’t really a Biden thing, but we were kinda discussing inflation here, and I saw this today:

To make this hit closer to home, the prices of consumer goods should follow (if they haven’t already). A few weeks back I learned that 60% of consumer good prices are comprised of the fuel/delivery of goods.

Yeah, I assumed that it was a substantial part, but I didn’t know 60%, so thanks for that figure.

"Brandt was arrested on Sunday morning after he called 911 to report that he had struck a pedestrian who he claimed was threatening him.

Brandt stated that the pedestrian “called some people and Brandt was afraid they were coming to get him,” a probable-cause affidavit sated. “Brandt admitted to State Radio that he hit the pedestrian and that the pedestrian was part of a Republican extremist group.”"

Does the 'unifying speech' Ole Joe gave the other day about his political opponents being threats to our republic cause this reaction?

In order to be consistent, if Trump's words caused the 'insurrection' then Biden is on the hook for this one right? Only makes sense.

First, it makes no sense to draw any conclusions until a thorough investigation and presenting of facts has occurred. Anything else is just a rushed, knee jerk reaction.

Second, if the person does not at some point claim they did what they did because of what Biden said, then there's really no rational reason to believe what was done was a consequence of Biden's words.

Third, Trump on more than one occasion has specifically called for people to fight. He said "fight like hell" on Jan 6th then shared the stage with Rudy who said it was "trial by combat."

If one is going to try to draw a reasonable equivalency between the consequences of Trump's words and Biden's words, a reasonable person would need to quote Biden calling for people to fight against others. All I've heard Biden say is we need to speak out against and vote against MAGA fascists, and the people who support and enable them.

Rigth, so division is the goal. At least we are being honest now. That is a step.

So the left is suddenly all about waiting for an investigation before jumping and pumping false narratives? This is a new thing, at what point did you all learn this? Covington? Jacob Blake? Any other police involved shooting of minority? Did you guys wait until the all the facts and trial before burning and rioting cities after Floyd? This stance from you guys seems a little disingenuous in my opinion.

Either politicians are responsible for how people process their words and act upon them or they are not? I am with the they are not camp. I have always said that. The left, on the other hand, flows to who said the words. Hypocrisy, I think is the term one would use.

On an aside, what do you consider a MAGA facist?

OMGZ!1!!1!!111111!!!!!!
So now the radical, socialist, Liberal, takers, evil groomers, baby killers, etc., are directly responsible for the divisions in this nation!!! Maybe...just maybe the people that chose to accept the lie from their chosen sources that every Democrat is, in fact, a radical, socialist, Liberal, takers, evil groomers, baby killers, etc.

Here's the thing, what was considered a Republican just 30 years ago would be considered a RINO with you MAGA extremist and that can be back up with actual evidence, not feelings or talk show propaganda. There's a long list of Republicans that were ousted by extremist that has taken over that party. Hell, a fiscal conservative/socialist liberal does not exist in the party anymore, all that exist these days are firestarters! Whether it be yelling about "open borders" (which do not exist) "welfare state" (which do not exist), to the "Green New Deal" (which is not written into law).

I use the word extremist when describing your party because they have chosen to govern in a manner that doesn't seek the support of those that disagree with them. They routinely describe EVERY Democratic candidate as the "most socialist" to ever seek office in order to stoke out anger and fear with the voters. They choose to engage in issues such as LGBQ rights, Women's rights, CRT, and painting the opposition as Pro-Crime all in an effort to turn back the clock on all the advancements we have made since the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voters Right act.

The Republican party support the violent attempt to overturn an election and now they are supporting candidates that have pledge to weaken election protections that are in place to prevent discarding votes that doesn't meet their liking. They are actively trying to subvert democracy.

Definition of fascism (Merriam Webster)

1: often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control - early instances of army fascism and brutality— J. W. Aldridge
